If either team loses one of their top five (or if they're off their game come NXR), they have no chance of top 4 at NXR. But if Newkirk can't run for CM and Campos can't run for Coronado next Saturday, that makes state a three-way toss up with Thompson Valley, IMO.

Yeah, who will run the virtual meets and post the "top 1,000 sophomore returners" articles now? As far as thoughtful analysis goes, we've been on our own since Versaw.
Anyways, it looks like a few teams have caught the injury bug. Factoring that in, here's some guesses for 5A:
5A Boys
1. Niwot 2. Valor 3. Boulder 4. Rock Canyon 5. Mountain Vista
5A Girls
1. Mountain Vista 2. Chaparral 3. Fossil Ridge 4. Air Academy 5. Niwot
4A Boys
1. Coronado 2. Cheyenne Mountain 3. Thompson Valley 4. Summit 5. Eagle Valley
Valor ran very well on the course nonetheless. Could be a dark horse NXN contender if they get Dendorfer back. But if they don't, and Whitney's hurt, that's 4 of the top 5 Colorado XC teams missing a key piece.
Letsrun.com old guys over here thinking Bobby Reyes was the problem this whole time. It doesn't matter who takes over, Milesplit is being run into the ground by Flosports.
vista honestly looked really tired to me, except for Claire Guiberson. Juliet Frum had to stop on the side at one point, Jorde and Adams were in a pack with Frum and Guiberson for the first 2k and then fell off drastically, and Brandt didn't look good at all, 9th on the team when she is usually 3rd or fourth. At least Edwards is back though. Hopefully Dalby has just been training these girls really hard and will taper them for state.
kinda agree actually on vista girls. They should be training for Dec in Oregon though instead of Late October in CO. A mini-taper maybe if winning state is important. Dalby is a good coach and knows what he is doing so ...

I agree with this. Mountain Vista has won ever kind of championship meet before, except for NXN

Coronado beats CM by a tiebreaker? Oh, man! The drama.
Hard to fathom that guys like Le Roux, Collins, and Horton are in the high 15s on this course and Goucher ran 14:44 there. Legendary.
I wonder what conditions were like for that race. It's rare to catch a day on this course that isn't hot and sunny. I can't help but think how fast times would be if it were cooler or overcast. Also I heard Coronado tempoed.
