Agree. It's really great to see him rewarded after getting through a rough period in his career. First World Champ for the OAC and Coffee Club
Yep, I remember him being happy for Ollie running Diamond Leagues and winning the Commonwealth Games while he was trying to ramp up to 60 miles a week. Very happy for him.
Miscounting laps at Millrose and still going toe-to-toe against Hocker for 3rd was the best thing that could have happened to him!
Some people are easy to root for and Beamish qualifies. This coupled with reports that El Bakkali is a bit of a jerk….Go Beamish!!!!

Really solid races from the 1500 men. Hobbs needs to learn that leading is not the only way to run a solid tactical race and Hocker did a better job not leading and using less energy, but Hobbs definitely ran better than he did in the rounds or at USAs.
Obviously indoors leading is much better and controlling tempo. He surged each time someone tried to pass and held strong. Excellent run
Hocker usually has good tactics, not sure why people are saying he doesn't. I think in this race he got a bit too cute; wanted to hug the inside rail and he did that well, but nothing ever opened up for him to move up much and he had to endure a couple shoving matches. Net effect was having to swing pretty wide to start his final lap. Not sure what Beamish did during the race up to that point... I was focused on Hocker, maybe his race was similar + a slightly better kick.
With Hobbs' positioning (credit to him for getting it) Hocker wins handily, I think.
Hocker will probably continue to be underrated by Letsrun because of this performance. We do still need to see if he can run 328-329, but it seems like he should be able to given his past times and being fitter this year. I think he is only a slight underdog to Nuguse at USAs.

Off a slow-ish pace? Maybe. I'd back both Kerr and Nuguse over him as soon as we're in the sub-3:33 range
Yeah my question is in what scenario does Hocker win a gold medal.
- Doesn’t have sub 3:28 speed like Yared or Jakob
- His kick is great, but Kerr (and obviously Beamish) have him beat there
1500 is just so stacked right now
Honestly, I don't see any situation where Hocker wins a gold medal on the world stage. Maybe if Jakob retires early and we get back to the pre-2017 era. He can still snatch a minor medal with a bit of luck
