What are you talking about? There are only 3/32 which is much lower than usual for CA.
I would think someone like Landon Pretre would get in the top 32 based off of his big improvements in his 3200 (9:04-8:48) and his 14:52 at Clovis where he dropped Eyan Turk hard.
That’s a pretty bad list. I don’t think Holman’s and Fitchen-Young’s track performances indicate an increase in 10-15 places compared to their finishing places from last year? How did Pretre get massively snubbed from the top 15? Where is Maximo Zavaleta??? (Also, he’s not from CA but Owen Powell is also a heavy favorite and yet barely made the list?)

there are 10 different regions on average you can expect to have 3-4 runners on the list per region. I would say Manny Putz and Owen Powell are underrated on this list.
My ranking of the top 10 California individuals for XC based on my expertise.
1. Evan Noonan
2. Broen Holman
3. Landon Pretre
4. Eli-Fitchen Young
5. Eyan Turk/Trey Caldwell
6. Maximo Zavaleta
7. Aydon Stefanopoulos?
8. Ben Bouie
9. Miles Cook
10. Justin Fann
Pretty good list. Good to see you didn't just follow 5k PR's, or Caldwell wouldn't have made that list, and he will be in the top 10 also... same as Turk. Westin Brown will be in the top 10.
Westin Brown will definitely be up there. His team is at risk this year so he will likely need to work on getting an individual spot if he really wants to go to NXN (which he had to miss last year due to injury)
1. Jesuit 2. ML King 3. JSerra 4. Arnold O. Beckman 5. Mira Costa 6. Great Oak 7. Buchanan 8. Tesoro 9. Hart 10. Woodbridge
Great Oak at 6th??? I don’t think that is an accurate statement
Great Oak had a time trial last week and they have a strong top 3, but they need work on positions 4 and 5. If those 2 step up, Great Oak will be in contention again.
There are also teams in the state that have better returning 1600 and 3200 times than Great Oak.

I caught Trey Caldwell at the NCS MOC 3200. He ran what was a PR for him at that time, 9:06. He went out fast, running with Lucas Cohen and Olaf Dietz. He fell back from their pace, but held on for 3rd after a last-lap challenge from Malcolm Oakes.
One week later, he broke 9:00, running 8:53, a 16 second improvement. I expect big things from Trey this XC season.

looks like california boys teams have some work and proving to do this season. Excited and hope to see the california boys try to prove everyone wrong. Lots of good teams this year.
