What is Unattached Texas…I am not sure this is a real school but athletes that ran unattached for the state of Texas so I wouldn't account for them in team rankings…

Marvin Ridge is in the Southeast, so I guess more people will care about the 2nd best team in the Southeast than you thought.

Bentonville already qualified for NXN last year and is returning most of their squad.

In Texas there are many of the high profile meets that aren't UIL sanctioned (like Texas Distance Festival), so results still go to MileSplit, but not associated to a school.

Valor track and XC hasn’t been the same since Coach Kula left. He created the culture there that was very special and was heavily involved behind the scenes with the boys distance. After he left kids started seeking outside coaching and the culture was lost.

Top 2 Cali teams look really strong for next year, could challenge for top 8-10 each. 3-5 look like nothing too special, teams that could make NXN on a good day, but could also just be normal top 25-40 teams.

NW has a similar deal with Crater and CDA looking really strong, and another 3-5 (Jesuit, Rocky, Franklin, Kamiakin ect.) that could be anywhere from top 15 to top 50 in the US.

On paper I would take Cali to have more depth, but the NW teams always seem to pull together really well throughout the XC season.

Crater looks like they could be a top 5 team next year. Jesuit OR has very good depth

Crater also has Headley who ran a 16:04 at NXR NW and was their 5th guy there. His 2 mile time was 10:10 at Oregon relays but this is only his first year of track. He was a baseball player until then. So really they are going to be at least 7-deep.

Crater is 7 deep with 2 running that could actually go 1-2 at nxr northwest. Cour D Alene is 4 deep with 3 very solid runners. How exactly are they going to best crater at nxr?

Dana Hills 23 / San Clemente 23 / Great Oak 23 (before Westin brown got injured) are far better than all of these California teams for 2024.

Those times are mediocre compared to past years teams. I am calling it now. California golden era left with Newbury Park.

Notice how young most of these CA teams will be. Yeah in 2024 it might be a bit of a down year, but in 2025 this state will be strong again on the boys side.

But in 2024 CA will have strong senior individuals such as Noonan, Fitchen-Young, , Pretre, Stefanopoulos, Turk, etc.
