I’m sure Moraa or Keely or whoever will be pleased to win the gold medal, but I’m sure they’d be even more pleased to defeat Mu in the process. A gold is a gold, and you can only beat who shows on the start line, but there will always be floating around the, “you won the gold, but….” As Jakob has said many times, you want to win against all of the best competitors all in peak form. That’s the ideal. So in a small way, Mu is even depriving her competitors of something intangible by not showing up. Maybe in the end, she does show….
And no, the 1500 would not be more interesting without Jakob. C’mon, that’s not how you feel.
