Is the state championship meet in the biggest state in the nation - that’d have the 5th highest GDP if it were its own country - not a relavent story?

You are correct. Sports are divided into categories for fairness. There are weight classes and age groups and sexes and school grades. Glad you can see that is what we are discussing.

Yes, small implies commensurate insignificance, but the battle is about human rights, a more significant issue than a bunch of folks running around a ball with made up rules to entertain others.

The Swedish review recognizes that bone density can recover after starting cross hormone therapy. There is also some evidence that bone density could be a problem that exists even before taking puberty blocker.
The following article addresses other questions like fertility. (It was written by a journalist. But you can check all the linked peer reviewed articles.)

If there aren't enough participants to create a separate category, let them compete with women, but make them ineligible for any formal award. Tatyana McFaden sued her school district because she didn't have anyone to compete with. She was allowed to race with runners, but was ineligible for any award. Once she was in college, she got to compete in her own category.

There are very few people arguing that transwomen who have not taken steps to medically transition should be allowed to participate in elite female competition. Prior to the World Athletics ruling, you would have been eligible to compete in international competitions in the female category if you were on hormone blockers and estrogen for a minimum of 24 months, at which point you would still be ineligible because you would be way too slow to come close to qualifying for any international or even national women's competition. You would be struggling to crack 5 minutes in the mile. Try googling June Eastwood.
