Why not? Allie's clearly better at XC. She was the mountain running jr world champ. Why would they all have the same conversion to a 5K track time? It's not a constant.
I think of all the courses that might be short once, that would be one of the last I would suspect.....nice day, maybe firm surface, 2 good runners going hard, exceptional time.
Wisconsin tells me they modified the course prior to the 2018 season so maybe it was short(er) after all?
So youcare saying older kids have advantages? Cook's parents should be congratulated for giving their child an advantage. I sent my son to Princeton for the same reason. Do you say that his higher salary doesntcoubtbecause he had an advantage by attending a better college than most students? I guess Tuohy's parents didn't make as good of decisions for their daughter according to you.
I ran many. There was Stanford and there was BU and there was ISU. There was ND. Even Drake had a pacer and we worked together. We ran a meet at Arkansas as a qualifier some years. The only races were conference, regionals, and nationals. I usually was able to coast through regionals (1st round).

wtf with this comment?? dragging the parents now??
Katelyn Tuohy is academically a senior at 20 years old. Natalie Cook is a freshman at 20 years old.
Katelyn Tuohy doesn't need an age advantage to be successful in academics and sports. HS class valedictorian and at college always in the all-academic list. Tuohy's parents has done a good job raising and developing the greatest HS distance runner of all time and is on track to be a legend in college too. Not even one interview accepted in the past 8 years till now, despite their kid being the most popular female distance runner in the country. Cook's could never.
She's a senior? Tuohy just started her 3rd year in college, and her profile on NC State's official athletic site lists her as a junior (academically). Of course, with the covid year not counting, they classify her as a sophomore in XC.
Does Cook have an advantage or not? Which is it? If she does, her parents gave her an advantage. You have stated that Cook has an advantage from being older. Her parents should be congratulated for doing what is best for their child.
Yes, they are smart. But being ahead is weird as in unusual. It is the same as Cook being older than her peers is weird. Neither is weird as in creepy, just that they are in the minority.
Being smart isnt weird, both kelsey and katelyn are a year ahead of their peers in academics.
I mean that it is strange for the discrepancy between the official athletic site listing her as a junior....and then the student directory saying senior.
