The guy had the best first 10 seasons we have ever seen. OBVIOUSLY.....this move just isn't working. No the guy didn't all of a sudden get bad, how damn dumb is that?

The AFC West is by far the best QB division in football with Patrick Mahomes, Wilson, Herbert and Carr, all can play.
Curious about how that altitude in Denver with effect Wilsons long ball which is the best in the game.
What people don't get about Wilson is his first 10 seasons of NFL footbal were the best we have ever seen from any QB ever. So many NFL records and firsts, we can start with most wins in that first 10 seasons for a QB.
Nobody compares as a runner/passer he is the ultimate there.

Denver got suckered into one of the worst trades of all time. Pete Carroll knew Wilson's best days were behind him.
Broncos won't recover from this decision for years. A once great franchise is now a joke. Elway should be fired. He was a great player but his record as a GM is abysmal.

I have a great conspiracy theory that covers your argument: the NFL does not want QBs to become free agents and build super-teams.
To support this claim: Peyton Manning and Tom Brady won championships after their teams moved on. Joe Montana, Brett Farve, Wilson (so far), and future Aaron Rodgers did not.
I think the NFL owners have paid close attention to the NBA post-Lebron and learned a valuable lesson: when you have three teams that have all the talent, your product is hopelessly watered down.

Elway is not the GM and hasn’t been for a few years

Denver is now shackled because they gave up so much to acquire Wilson. And without a good team around him, Wilson's ceiling is much lower.
What a disaster.

I could not agree more.
As I said when the trade was made and earlier in this thread I stand behind: you only make this sort of move mortgaging the future when every other piece of the puzzle is in place. It clearly was not then and especially now.
Salary cap implications, loss of high round draft picks,..... This trade is being referred to as "The Big Bamboozle" in Denver.

The Eagles “lost” the battle to trade for Russell Wilson in the off-season and had to settle for sticking with Jalen Hurts, the talent around him and the nice draft picks they have for next year.

Just goes to that the NFL is most often a crap shoot. all the experts predicted Denver being good even though Hackett is just another under qualified white guy who got the job based on his relationship with Rogers and his Dad. M

Russell Wilson has taken their offense back to the 1970s when 14 points a game was fairly routine. Deno just doesn’t understand the modern NFL.

R Wilson is no longer running for (35 to 45) yards a game. Running quarterbacks make opposing defenses play zone coverage on 85 plus percent of plays. R Wilson is no longer a threat to run so Denver has no idea if opposing defense will play man to man, zone or a combination of man to man and zone. Running quarterbacks face relatively simplified defenses, not anymore for Old Man Russell Wilson.
