You have to feel bad for Femke Bol. She will finish her career as the second best 400mH in history ... and it is doubtful that she will even have a single gold medal. At least Muhammad had the opportunity to win gold when Sydney was young. Bol and Sydney are the same age.
It definitely was. We now know that the old 52.75 was the softest modern record by far...she’s lowering the record by a second per year...in a 400m long event hahaha
I remember when people were like Lashinda Demus is definitely doping, she is running too fast ha
Didn't the olympic gold 4x 400 team feature 2 400 hurdlers?
Yep. We've got 3 women in the hurdles final (if the third was a little healthier) who could clearly challenge for medals in the open 4, but this idiot thinks the hurdles is 'soft.'

Lashinda had real bad skin and wore braces at age 30. Textbook.
As the race unfolded and Sydney took off the Secretariat race in the Belmont came to mind. Tracksiders then kept saying that he was going too fast, he was going to collapse. I felt the same way here- she would start tying up in the stretch and would be caught by Bol and Muhammad. And when she just kept going my mouth fell open and I realized that we would see something so spectacular, so amazing that anyone who was there will remember for a long long time.
So Kirani James has collected the entire medal set at the Olympics AND the World Championships. What an incredible career he's had. ❤️ There's only more to come too.

That's a great point I hadn't quite thought of. I was kind of thinking almost the same thing about Rai earlier.

And it was a windy freaking night --as times in the open races appear to attest.
It's just ridiculous. She's a goddamn video-game at this point.
All the pompous asses here the other day mocking anyone who *dared* suggest she might eventually take a serious crack at Koch or Kratochvilova,... just might be forced to reconsider. I mean, you'd be an idiot to doubt she could crack 49 right now. Could she push 48? She can't be very far off.
PLEASE put her on the Goddamn relay. It'd be the smartest way by far to end the meet.
