Anyways, there's no evidence that blue states are subsidizing red states. 40 US states pay more in federal taxes than they receive in benefits, and the number of "red states" far outnumbers the "blue states." Also, a state's contribution to federal tax revenue is based on the individual income earners, not the state's tax policy. There are a few states with a lot of "poor" people (I put poor in parenthesis because tax policy does not account for a person's standard of living costs) who receive benefits that paid for mostly by "rich" people, which has nothing to do with politics and everything to do with how our progressive tax system is designed.
