Just catching up on this thread and besides braincelll being wrong with yet another prediction (think it’s time to give up now buddy) can’t see too many updates on influencers. So here’s a run down of what to look out for on the British scene (gonna exclude the big channel influencers as people have mentioned them - Felton, Parkes, Bester, FOD, Budd, Bowden, Cole, Scullion etc.. )
1) The two running brooms - John getting close to that sub 40 again but just doesn’t seem to have the speed. His technique occasionally looks like hard work but seems a nice guy and enjoy his historical inputs. Plus he was a very fast runner when younger (still well above average for his age now) Dawn continues to marathon build well and put in some high age grading times. Cracking channel. Sub if you haven’t already.
2) It’s On Andy - Got to be one of the influencers who comes across as the nicest guy. Been putting together some good marathon blocks and improving well. Never fails to entertain with Daisy his dog.
3) The Wu - fresh off Barca marathon and going sub 3 hour after many previous attempts. Wonderful video of the pre race and race in Barcelona. Great channel
4) Tim Gross - put together a great 10k improvement. If he stays injury and illness free it’s hard to see him not getting the sub 40 before John Broom. Tim has a very charming channel.
5) The Journey Of Lee - What an underrated channel. Following his journey to quit the rat race and set up his own running business. Lee recently went sub 20 for this first time at Battersea. He has had some injury issues since but is now starting a really interesting (possibly revolutionary training method) . Worth a watch to see how/if it works. Definitely one to watch out for in the future. Think the guys capable of sub 35 10ks in the future but marathon could be his calling. I predict sub 2:20 by 5 years.
6) That runner Matt - some talent this kid. Race day videos are good. Parkruns could use some commentary over the top but worth a watch.
7) Raley adventures - he continues to build well in the marathon, she continues to improve over the shorter distance. They come across very sweet and enthusiastic about vlogging and running
8) Donato - What a character! Every running scene needs someone like him. Chatting to everyone, eccentric and very very fast for his age
9) Crown my run - this lad has some money I think. Buying shoes for his brothers left, right and centre. Everyone loves this channel. And it’s not hard to see why. Great race commentary. Very funny. Bester is now aware of it and offered to pace J Mills to a 5k PB. Legend. And what a collab it would be.
10) That runner in blue - both of them are really top runners. Often finishing first male and female in their races. Very northern sarcastic humour. Videos very analytical (possibly go on too long sometimes)
It's On Andy is a good watch. He really does come over as a lovely lad who you can't help but root for. Some of his race results are way beyond what you'd expect from him.
Crown My Run is probably the best running YouTube channel out there.
If anyone has been following The Wu and didn't get a tear in their eye watching his sub 3. He has been so, so close so often. Also a very likeable guy.
