....and now Illinois State lost its 4th coach this summer. I don't care what anyone has to say but something is going on there. Bovee cant keep coaches.
Zarb-Cousins From LMU to UCSB. Rumors swirling Sean B is moving in on the job as a (probably temporary solution) to finding his next big get. Stay tuned!
I don't believe his athletic ability has anything to do with his coaching ability... maybe just touching on his lack of experience is enough but hey... whatever you need to do to fuel your ego buddy
What coaching ability? He has zero. Was he even successful coaching the middle school kids?
CHARLESTON, S.C. – Director of Track & Field and Cross Country Amy Seago has announced her plans to step down from her position, effective September 5.
Stop making up false stories on Sean Bronsan. If he wanted that LMU job he'd have it by now. He is much higher level and coveted than this.
On what planet is Brosnan high level? Are you referring to his coffee?
IMO Planet Earth. IMO He will be the new LMU coach if he want's to be. IMO when you are regarded as the most successful HS coach ever, within a calendar year turned UCLA into a who's who before not gettinf resigned...If he wants the LMU job they would love to have him
Great hire…Josh is a great recruiter, Coach and even better person. Big W for that program. Corpus Christi had nothing when he got there and he turned it around
I am sure they will be able to hire more assistant coaches
Hire? Yes. Keep? No. Hiring is the easy part. You keep your staff either by paying them enough to deal with your B.S. or by being a good person to work for. They have neither there. Rumor is 5th assistant is chomping at the bit to get out too.

Who left? Didn't they just hire two assistants this summer?
You mean the Mark Wetmore that spent several years coaching a club and 14 years coaching high school before he started his first college coaching job at Seton Hall?
The young coach hired at Delaware deserves no blame here. I hope he does well and makes the most of a good opportunity. But part of the job of a Director involves hiring coaches. Many in this industry don't seem to do much due diligence with that process. Too many positions are filled because someone is convenient or because their buddy recommended them.
I see this position all the time on this thread. Most of the time the answer is because the position does not pay enough for a "good" coach to want it, or the city/town/location sucks. Its not hard to realize this. Some of these candidates probably are the best candidate that applied for the job.
That's totally fair, and a lot of times it's probably the exact reason why some of these positions get filled. It's also fair that the person with the best stats isn't always the best fit for a variety of reasons. There are times where a young coach is more desirable, times were someone more experienced is needed. A staff with 5 men can see benefit from adding a female to give a different perspective or someone relatable to half of their athletes. I know I've missed out on jobs and saw who their hire was and thought, "I wish that was me, but they made a great choice."
That said, my frustration comes when I know or hear that some applicants that, on paper, are more qualified for a position don't even get an interview. Even for my job now, I know someone who was absolutely more qualified than I was and didn't get a call. I'm grateful, but the hiring process within college athletics is archaic at best and lazy at worst.
corpus finished almost dead last at their conference meet and he got let go though?
The head coach stopped coaching that meant all assistants were let go. Would have been up to the new coach to hire them back. That school has been constantly taking funds away fromt he CC/track programs to fund their over paid BBall coaching staff. Theres a reason the track team finished that low and its not because of the coaches. It is public knowledge but the two assistant positions paid 30k and 20 something. completely underfunded.
