It will be very interesting to see what tell-all books are written by her staff or other insiders about Harris once she is out of power.
Her lack of preparation for running for President is puzzling. Over the last 45 years, only 2 VPs never ran for President... Quayle and Cheney. Harris even ran herself in 2020 so we know she had aspirations to the job. And the VP always has a leg up on all other contenders as successor to a President who is not running again.
So why didn't she do a better job of preparing for the limelight? Why didn't she do a better job of building her resume as VP? Why wasn't she better prepared for questions that she should have absolutely known might come up? I honestly don't know.
We all have guesses, but I'm curious to read what insiders will say.
One comparison that can be done without that: Harris' VP accomplishments versus the others. My guess is that they're roughly the same....because it's VP, of course!
But yes, one huge (it might have turned out) difference might be the border thing. She didn't anticipate running so soon and/or how important the border would be in the election, and so was fine (in true politician fashion) in not even trying to shine on something that wouldn't help her?
Then again, how many of her votes lost were because SHE didn't do well enough on the border? Maybe not a lot? That would be my guess. Civically, it's a very dumb, very unsophisticated, very "un-serious" country. Simple fact for a truly great country: Trump would be able to beat absolutely NO-BODY.
