It’s the classic conservative tactic- demonstrated here and in the Oval Office - ignorant white people telling Black people how to feel about racism.
This is where I'll push back just a bit. And as an actual fairly conservative person (who despises Trump on the current Republican party).
Pre-Trump, I went basically all of my college and adult life being annoyed by liberals who wanted to claim that everyone whom they deemed insufficiently racially enlightened were racists. Not sufficiently pro-affirmative action? Racist. Actually anti-affirmation action? Big time racist!
Utter BS, in my opinion.
And, I believe, many, many of the sheltered liberals who did the above knew very little, or nothing, about all of the rural/"working class" ACTUAL racists in their country. Because they didn't know them. They thought that the "enemy" was the white guy who pushed back a LITTLE bit in the college or graduate class (and was outnumbered and got overwhelmed, and probably then shut up).
NOPE. Not really, or mostly, anyway.
What they didn't know - and perhaps now do - is that there is STILL a group in this country (20-30%) who see that Oval Office meeting earlier this week and think and say things infinitely worse than "that guy in class." Real, live, Jim Crow-adjacent racists.
