The program at UMass is back from the brink of being cancelled or being completely irrelevant. It’s an example of addition by subtraction. When O’B, LaFreniere, and (quite possibly the worst AD of all time) McCutchen all moved on and we’re replaced with competent individuals, it was amazing how rapidly things improved.

Give her a chance. The women have the $$$ to potential be relevant regionally if she can recruit well and coach a bit.

Don't disagree, but David Jackson and Christine Engel aren't the answers. Women have potential to be one of the best in the Northeast. Men will never be relevant. Decision to be all-in on lousy football team along with expensive sports hockey and baseball, and assuming lacrosse is where the focus is for better or worse.

There are some big-time alum from that program.

Also, like Ohio, alot of people turned down the position. The pandemic hurt Umass alot financially

Spry is closing in on retirement and support for track and field at Auburn is lackluster compared to the rest of the conference.

It will be a low key replacement who will make substantially less than the average in the conference. Could look a lot like Knoxville's new hire.

If you’re labeling Scott Richardson as “low key” or an inferior replacement, then you don’t know Scott Richardson. He’ll do a fine job.

I think they were referring to the potential distance hire at Auburn as being “low key” - not Coach Richardson

Any body been contacted for Michigan Throws jobs? Seems like it would be sought after with the unique training facility.

Just that single, educated, self-respecting adults generally prefer other adults and culture on their level in their community. And not tribal, Stone Age, gun-toting anti-vaxxers who blame their lack of mating opportunities on some nefarious conspiracy by all women against them. And yes, these "people" always believe their sky daddy bestowed all these qualities upon them. The two often go hand in hand - especially in this part of the country. Fresno and North Dakota have a disproportionate amount of those. Not sure if Amherst does. But when you've been at Duke and at least lived in the North Carolina Triangle, why would you stick around Fresno State and North Dakota ANY longer than you HAVE to? This all seems pretty straight forward to me...am I the only one?
