Not a stretch, AT ALL.
But here's a LITTLE bit of a stretch, that emphasizes the confusion that many of us responsible adults continue to experience, and probably will to our deaths. And we're a bunch of loser guys, so I'm confident most/all will know the reference:

No, just another embarrassing failure in logic on your part. But it does remind me of an interesting question. What's the net loss/gain to the Trumpers on the immigration issue in Trump 2.0? The net of the following:
1) Mouth-breathing Trump base as sure about the supposed terribleness of illegal immigration as ever.
2) Flexible liberal folks who now admit that Democrats were probably too unconcerned about the issue.
3) A whole hell of a lot of people in the wide middle who are very painfully learning that the actions of an autocratic president make illegal immigration look really, really, unimportant, in comparison.
I'd easily guess that that's a net LOSS for the anti-illegal immigration cause.
