Never gonna go down well using bucket list races as 'training run' as a previous poster mentioned (believe it was London as a tester for Leeds Marathon).
I am also a UK runner & see the Fordy Runs gaggles as most races. Obviously harmless, but a bit weird when there are so many local community running groups around. Similar to adults wearing full football kits in public, it is a bit suspect. A quick check of their hard drive would not hurt & catch a few wrong'uns, same goes for adults in Youtuber Merch.
Fordy Runs is an England Athletics running club and has been around for years. I believe both he and the club pre-date the runfluencer era by quite a bit. He's also late diagnosed autistic, and says (on his website) he comes across as a bit weird. I'd say leave him and his club members alone. It's up to them what races they do in their club kit.
England Athletics accreditation is par for the course for any run group big or small.
Think you can even get individual EA membership if you are desperate for that sweet 15% off at sports shoes & entry into certain comps, so that membership is not a sign of a great club.
I have no issue if he rips into other creators (autism or not). For example Callum Elson from the Distance Project isn't shy of calling out anyone in the industry on his Podcast which is refreshing as running content is stacked to the over the top positivity mindset, it is good for balance.
If he is 'walking in' marquee races & treating them as training runs then that is odd but his choice providing its paid for out of his pocket. However it is really poor form if it is a gifted bib. In that case it would be better going to a charity & ultimately given to someone who is gonna give the race the respect & commitment to fundraising for a good cause no matter what time they complete it.
You’re going to have 3 kids and are a public figure as an educator. There’s only a handful of decent marathoners that are also educators, so I’d say look at other avenues of income from your running. The amount of time you’d have to spend recording, editing, and promoting your content would be better spent with your next kid, still teaching, or private tutoring for extra cash. You probably coach at your school or privately, that earns you more than the YouTube payout and ads.

He's weird.
I remember he did a video on the Great North run. He went to town on the event, saying the start was rushed, badly organised etc.,
Someone there with him, commented that when instructed to get in the pens, all the Fordy Runs gang ignored it to do a big photoshoot instead.

He went ape#### online and then deleted it.
Strange dude.
I dont understand these people with mental health issues such as Fordy Runs and Ben Parkes putting their lives out on YouTube and having to read the comments. They will get negative comments, everyone will, its part of the game

whats his podcast? i recall one he used to do with Ben is Begging and some jogger whose name wasnt even worth remembering.
id listen to something with him if hes ditched the other 2 hangers on which i think has died a death anyway - had to fast forward hearing the other 2 recount there week of jogging, truly painful
Looks like Ran To Japan is injured / fcuked his kneee, 0km so far this week 😬
I enjoy his content but he's been burning the candle at both ends for a while. This is how too much mileage, ultimately will be the downfall. Even if he knocked back the mileage by 50k a week, he'd probably end up running more miles in a year as he probably wouldn't get injured as much. But then I guess the super high mileage is his gimmick

It’s a shame but quite inevitable. I guess Tokyo marathon was the straw that broke the camels back. Hopefully it’s not a long term thing as the content was unique and refreshing.
All these YouTubers training for a marathon doing 3 sessions a week + a long run + steady runs is crazy. Like they are just trying to fit it all into a week of training just for the sake of it.
Doesn’t make sense to me when elite athletes like Clayton Young post all of their training on Strava and aren’t doing anywhere near as much, typically doing 2 sessions and a long run or 3 sessions with one mixed in the long run and one of the midweek sessions with less intensity.

It is that currently dead podcast with the three of them. Seems to stop start. The last video on the Distance project channel noted he is currently competing with the indoor season, I assume his content has probably rightly taken a back seat. The mini club running docs on the channel have been solid though.
After Nick Barr got him by the car Floberg made a big show in his next video to wear a reflective vest. Now just a couple week later he's running on the wrong side of the rode at dusk with no reflective gear on. Be careful out there brother

there's no new podcast (just the old Run It Three Ways pod), I spoke to him a couple weeks ago and he said that with scheduling differences it's just not possible for them to do it anymore, so it wont be coming back. I guess fairly to be expected with him going Pro, no longer injured and being away on training camps etc more often now
Just seen on Strava Cole did 13.7 yesterday morning at LT1
Then another 13.1 in the afternoon at LT2
Followed by a 15 miler this morning.
Insane!!!
But isn't LT2 meant to be the highest speed that one can sustain for 50-60 minutes?!
Yes, you're not technically doing "LT2" for 13.1 miles unless you're racing an all-out Half Marathon and you're finishing that in close to 60-min flat.

I suppose he could have broken up an "LT2 workout" with 13 miles worth of total volume though... so something like 3 x 4 miles LT2 (rest)+ 1 mile LT2 etc. Still, that would be a crap ton of volume to really be doing at LT2 imo. I'd usually recommend people limit their true LT2 sessions to more like 8km-10km in total volume.
