Efraimson died...
Simpson, Cain, Grace 1,2,3 at end
cain right behind simpson
efraimson 7th
So what's the excuse for Efraimson?
alexa efraimson was in 4th with about 300 to go but died a bit in the final 200. she made a move to come level with cain at the 400 mark but then yeah... great race from her though. she's got good racing instincts.
They say the men's 100m semis are coming up next, except they happened an hour and a half ago.
9:05pm 5000m women final
9:25pm 5000m men final
Efraimson is out.
I personally thought the talk of Efraimso versus Cain was good for the sport but overblown. Even if Cain is a little off so far this year, she's still ahead of Efraimson....
Wejo was like, "She's wasting too much ground" I think Alexa was very focused on Cain. Spending a lot of time trying to be with her, running on the outside etc.
Had nothing left at the end.
As for Cain, did she do a little of that herself? Staying right on Simpson, pushing too early? Was she tired at the end or letting up.

When you were a HS junior, how many senior national championships did you run in?
What was your excuse?

I know this is sensitive topic, but is just me or does Mary Cain look a bit heavier since we last saw her ? Maybe it was just the video feed, but she looks like she has put on a few pounds. On the plus side though, her form looks better than ever.

She was clearly letting up.
Thanks for that link! Don't forget you have to go back to USTFA at 9 for the 5000's.

Oh yes, the tried but true LetsRun post of "X has done more at X age than you ever will so your point is invalid."
I'm not an Efraimson hater or a Cain apologist but the talk on this board (and it IS there, just look at the front page) of how Cain was ducking her, "I want Efraimson to beat her so bad," and all of that crap was well...pretty silly.
She has a great future but not on this level yet.
Hard to tell, but she's definitely not in the racing shape she was in during the winter. She's probably good enough for a silver at these championships, though. But I think it's unlikely she can win the 1500 at World Juniors against the Ethiopian girl. Perhaps this talk about running the 3k there is serious.

It's almost Vessey time!
The 50.05 by Sanya was impressive.
I thought her career was heading Jeremy Wariner's way.
Vessey's outfit was nice
