Please keep the swearing included in your posts. It makes them more appealing to read. I guess its what makes it all real, not some sterile document.

Some people think that only stupid people swear as they don't have the vocabuarily, to use the correct word in the correct situation. I think those people are just wound up too tight. Swearing provides us with emotion, we feel like we are walking in your shoes.

I very distinctly remember a college professor who taught us how to use swear words appropriately in our writing. He encouraged it actually. Joe Mac remembers him, I am sure.

My post before was not an apology or saying that I will stop swearing. I am keeping this authentic--what happens in my head will be written. Like I said before:

...I generally write stream of consciousness especially when I am writing about how I am feeling about running and things like emotion. I am just writing my exact thoughts to authenticate the experience. I am writing this like an authentic ethnography...

I have made an effort to clean it up before this, but I am writing like this now because I believe it does put you there with me. What I am writing is not thought out or planned, it is simply what is happening on a day to day basis on the road and in my head as I go through with this with raw emotion!

I want people to know what it feels like to run this much at this intensity. This is a sport I truly love and have dedicated my life thus far to. Running is a huge part of my life, you can't be a half in, half out runner, it has to be all or nothing: Otherwise you will never truly reach your limits--If that's what you want. (If you are a rec runner that is fine, we all don't have the same goals, you are no less of a runner than I). I don't run for exercise, I don't run to look good, or for health....If I was that concerned with that I wouldn't be able to or ever put down 20 beers in a sitting or do some of the other things I do sometimes. I run to test myself, push myself somewhere I thought I never could go. That is what I value.

I completely agree, smart people cuss. I am extremely well educated, but that is not the message or value of my blog. I truly believe that the stream of consciousness style of wiring I am utilizing here provides the reader with an authentic front row seat to my running, an omniscient, ubiquitous viewer to my insanely masochistic plan here.

Thanks All For Following, I Truly Appreciate It! This is not easy and even though I am doing this completely solo (which was the original plan until my teammate posted it to Lets Run) it does make it easier knowing that a great deal of the running community is following.

I do indeed remember that professor--one of the best writers I have ever met. Taught me everything about writing and I am still a terrible writer!

It is cold as a mofo here in wonderful Maryland, and a depressing no sun windy day to boot. I'm saying 4:56.23.

Right now it is freezing cold and snowing a bunch. Getting ready to head out for my run soon before there is too much snow.

This is the kind of day/weather I was waiting for. I grew up in Iowa and we had plenty of blizzard like days where running 10 miles in 75 minutes was painful, much less finishing with another at sub-5. IMO, that variable will only make Joe's task more worthwhile (and difficult, lol) and following the journey more enjoyable. I'm glad you survived this, Joe, it was 65 and sunny in Orlando today and I was going to take the day off but thought against it because it's just so perfect. ;)

On a side note, if anyone ever has trouble getting motivated to run on any day, just come here, to Letsrun, or go to Joe's blog, and read about the craziest a-hole on the internet. This is ten times more useful than anything that ever happened on Jackass. Cheers, Joe Mac!

Ha, Rowbury, I was truly in for a laugh this evening with your post. I made it by the hair on me arse tonight and it was tough. This is what makes this really difficult--The things you personally can not account for/ control! I appreciate the support thanks for keeping track.

As a side note, my boss and I were looking at plane tickets to South Beach as the weather is much more desirable than here. Perhaps there might be a Southern Mile in the near future.
