yes, chico has no africans because they have no money.

Chico, Metro, Mines, GVSU, there's still a few schools out there. Let's not leave Mines out of the party equation either. I thought I remembered hearing that one of their guys took a ride in the patty-wagon last year for dropping trow after leaving the bars. They usually have a strong contingent.
Adams will destroy the field. There will probably be 3 RMAC teams in the top 10
Western doesn't have any.
Western = NO Africans
When we talk about 'africans' are we just talking about runners from out of the country that are really good at running, and specifically came here to run/ get an education because of their running? If so, then Western has kiwis.
It is not that Chico doesn't have the money, chico just doesn't actively recruit foreign runners....kiwi, or african
it's tough to have foreign athletes on your roster when you have just over one scholarship to use for the entire men's team.
Don't forget about alaska anchorage and their new team. No one talks about their potential for a Top-5 finish, but check out their times from Sundodger... They are definitely legit. You won't see them ranked too high because their coach does the rankings and he doesn't want to set them up.. but they ran 23:45, 24:10, 24:30's for #3 and #4 and sub 25 for their 5th. Add a guy who ran sub 25 a year ago on the Willamette Course and you have a pretty solid group.
they should travel and do a race in the rift valley so that they can perform a race in front of thier family i'm sure theyd like that.
nor does chico have the money

Who was this guy? Maybe you're thinking about Pena who was their 7th at Sundodger this year, but ran 25:0x last year. Off race.
partying/breaking the law is nothing to be impressed with.

In the past maybe but none right now and no more ever to come.
Your cold hard facts are pretty funny since they are... fabricated. As stated earlier Chico has one scholarship for its entire team.
yeah it is, everyone else seems to think partying is what its all about. theres only one way to settle this, 7 teamates x mile x 4 beers relay
Adams, Abilene and Harding have clearly seperated themselves from the rest of the pack in DII...Abilene beat Harding without racing Tanui...Harding's Cheruyiot does not seem to be closing up the 1-5 pack for them, so they are probably on the outside looking in for the national title...Adams versus Abilene for the championship.
Having said that, we all know that races end up being weird now and then---a big pack runs through a couple miles, somebody who should not be there, hangs on and upsets the apple cart a little bit...
As for Western looking so strong...all I can say is huh???
Metro certainly did not look all that great...
...and who the hell is Aaron Brown??? Oh, I get it, Wetmore and his Colorado guys couldn't be bothered to know the real name of one of the best guys in DII...gimmee a
break.
Aaron Brown may be able to challange Aaron braun for sexiness
Although Cheruyiot isn't making up the slack between he and the rest of their guys yet, they do still have 5 solids. Their new Polish recruit just had a bad day in OK. He's usually their 4-5 guy right around Kern (14:10 guy). At the moment they have little room for error, given that they can't afford for this guy to have another bad race at NCAA's but they do have 5 good ones without Cheruyiot.
Foreign/out of state athletes are very expensive for a lot of state schools. If you were a coach who had a relatively small amount of scholarship dollars to spend, would you recruit a bunch of good in-state kids or one or two older foreigners who were really good?
I'm guessing that is the situation with some of the schools that have had a hard time placing better than 3rd or 4th. They definitely get talent, but they can't afford to bring in a core of 3-5 guys that are already somewhat established.
Most of the kids develop well at places like Grand Valley, Mines, or Chico, but they aren't really national caliber runners (top 20-30ish) until their jr. or sr. years (with a few exceptions of course).
