There is 9 hours of coverage for 24 races and 16 of those races last under 1 minute.
Let the snoozefest begin.
They'll need to follow the Athlos mold - lots of interviews and views of the crowd. Athlos had 7:49 of racing in one hour, forty minutes of TV time. 8% racing, 92% down time.
Why dont they simply run the distance races in lanes 7-8, while they are running the sprints in 1-6?
We're about an hour away from the start of the tv broadcast (6 pm ET) and less than 2 hours away from the first race (6:42 pm ET). A long intro I assume to introduce the fans to the series and try to make it look big.
Like someone else said on a different thread, this league is no different than the diamond league for us viewers. I think the biggest misconception is thinking that these “rivalries” are what actually garner interest. No, it’s the biggest stars. Jakob, Lyles and, Mondo are the big three that they missed. Nobody really cares about the other athletes other than track nerds or their families, that is the sad truth. Kingston as a start also wasn’t a great idea. The production also isn’t that great. The angles are wide sometimes and the stadium is too dark. The only good thing I see is that these athletes are being paid what they deserved and this gives them another opportunity to race eachother, that’s it.
both long hurdles groups are a joke. good for SML since she doesn't like to compete. but this whole thing would be better off with her in the long sprints group.
No way Ngetich is clean. Runs 8:38 pace for road 10k and barely can run 8:28?
8:28 in the heat is fast
Well also it was an unpaced race and she only lost by .3 to a 14:12 woman who can kick.
You could say “No way Whittni Morgan is clean. Runs 8:28 indoors and now can barely run 8:43?” or “No way Tanaka is clean. Runs 8:41 pace for 5k and now can barely run 8:49?”
Not saying Ngetich is clean or not. Just saying the logic is not good.
