Crowley ran JV today and he would have scored on varsity with the time he ran

Wayzata wins the STMA invitational

Blaine was missing the younger Meberg, but Wayzata still would have won if he was there

No Ohe or Engstrom who has been their 4th for Edina. No Capistrano for MG either.

Off race for individually ranked Koepp from Belle Plaine. They might need him to beat Marshall or Mankato East to qualify for state.

Orono is in that conference too, which makes it even tougher

Capistrant is now in results. 2nd in 16:03. Sander Ohe also ran but not listed yet there...

Wayzata will be very tough to beat.

STMA girls were missing Sophie Miller- notable since she missed state last year. Good race for EP to get 2nd, too bad they are in 2AAA with a handful of ranked teams.

Northfield was without #1 runner Makayah Petricka.

Ev Berg last night

Rosemount dominates with 4 runners at 16:22 or faster. 5th/6th at 16:46/16:59. Winona's Kedrick Boucek wins in 15:46.

8th ranked Winona win girls race over 4th ranked Mankato East, but East was missing scorer. Abi Tri of John Marshall wins in 18:58.

Litchfield Invite also last night

Delano girls with big win over New London-Spicer and Orono. They are unranked but were ranked 3rd/4th in preseason. They had 8th grader go 19:12 in her 2nd 5k as their #2 runner. NLS was 2nd and Orono 3rd- still without Stephens. St. John's Prep Margaret Duffy wins in 18:22.

Orono wins boys race with top 3 at 16:15 or faster. But big gap to 4th/5th at 17:36/17:37. Delano 2nd and Rockford 4th, but missing their clear #5. Bortnem wins in 15:45.

Como Park boys also ran yesterday at Thundering Royal Elk meet. Top 4 all between 15:55-16:36, but big gap to 17:52/17:53 5th/6th runners.

Mounds View top MN team with Perham 18 points behind. Stillwater 7th, but Will DeMar won JV race in 16:48 which would have been top time for them in varsity race...they would have been in front of Roseville with him in there.

Emery Wirth gets 2nd (top MN guy) in 16:07 followed by fellow sophomores of Connor Malecka/Heltemes in 16:14/16:16.

Perham girls dominate- 56 points in front of Mounds View. Big news was Ousdigian ran and got 4th in 19:22. MV beats Chaska by 1 point, though this was Chaska's 2nd meet this week. Highland Park and Alexandria were 14/16 points behind them and Halbe is back in lineup for Alex.

Brownell wins individually in 18:31, Ross 2nd in 19:01.

Preping some state history stuff internally and wanted to throw out this year's AAA boys team top contenders with some historical state finishes since 1975. Stark differences between programs!

• Wayzata- 13x champs, 25x top-5, 28x state appearances
• Stillwater- 5x champs, 17x top-5, 34x state appearances
• Edina- 2x champs, 12x top-5, 15x state appearances
• Mounds View- 1x champs, 14x top-5, 30x state appearances
• Rosemount- 0x champs, 10x top-5, 16x state appearances
• Minnetonka- 0x champs, 4x top-5, 5x state appearances
• Blaine- 0x champs, 1x top-5, 3x state appearances

Rosemount's 10 top-5 finishes (which includes 4 runner-up finishes) without a title is most in the state regardless of class.

All respect to the top programs, but makes me want the Rosemount/Tonka/Blaine programs to win a title!

Not a correction but more of an observation. If a team makes it out of 6AAA there is a good chance of being in the top 5 at state.

Have to root for Blaine, when you think MN XC, Blaine doesn't come to mind

Great stuff Ice Cold! It's surprising to me that neither Rosemount nor Minnetonka has ever won a state title considering the quality and depth of runners that have come out of those programs. It would be great to see either of those 2 or Blaine win it this year, but Wayzata is a juggernaut that will be extremely tough to beat.

Has anyone heard what is happening with Griak next year? New location or will a bunch of larger meets pop up but nowhere near the size of Griak?

I have not heard anything. Brad Wick did email that they will "find a fantastic course in the area to host the meet going forward" if meet doesn't happen at Les Bolstad.

The neighborhood is fighting the sale, seems likely they will stop any sales that will lead to development.

Good. Not everything has to be turned into overpriced homes, Chipotle drive-thrus, and vape stores.

Wow I knew Minnetonka was still looking for their first state title. I could’ve sworn Rosemount had won just knowing that programs prowess. Maybe this will be the year a first time state champ is crowned?! Another note is Tonka’s top5s have all. come in the last 4 years, somewhat a rising power in AAA
