WHat's disgraceful to me is they arne't hyping the world record. They are treating all races the same. The lead announcer is missing the big theme - might we see th first sub-2:10 in women's marathoning history?
It's almost as if women's accomplishments are less noticed and celebrated
Even if the stream is tailored to more casual fans and regular citizens, I can't imagine they find the wheelchair racing more exciting than the running
every running telecast/stream i've seen over the last 30 years is the same: treating the viewer like it's the first time they've seen someone run so they start talking about the most cliche running-related things possible
imagine if it was like this every time you tuned into a football, basketball, baseball etc. game "so this is lebron james folks, he practices dribbling hours every day in hopes of passing to a teammate that will endeavor to throw the ball towards the hoop with just the right amount of force so it will go through it. sometimes teams get 2 points for putting the ball through the hoop, other times it's 3, but it can even be worth just 1 point if the situation is right! it's all so confusing, but stick with us and we'll explain it all to you as it happens.
but first we're going to cut to a quick 10 minute documentary about a fan in attendance today that played basketball in high school 30 years ago and has been participating at the local 24 hour fitness open-runs the past month!!"

Not hyping a completely tainted attempt at the world record might be the one thing they're doing right. Granted it's by total incompetence of the announcers that they're doing that. So very faint praise.

A few minutes ago they cut to Chepngetich and that lead announcer said “and I understand she’s on a pretty fast pace.” Yeah, like you understand.
For being the premier time trial course in America, they sure are doing a poor job at showcasing the american men and women. A real shortcoming for the development of American LDR
I'm extremely disappointed with my decision to get Peacock for this. With the technology available, it's not difficult to show the lead and chase packs, and provide up-to-date commentary about what's going on in the race. This is absolutely terrible.

Maybe that’s because your party can’t define what a woman is?
They 100% care about marathon schedule. They have done it with the Vikings 2 of the last 3 years playing in London. The Twin Cities Marathon start line is adjacent to US Bank Stadium. They can't have a home game the same day.
Pretty sure that's just the city telling them that there will be no access to the stadium that day.
