i am impressed by katir. didn't think he had that in him
I was rooting for him to hold on but Jakob stayed calm and just had more in the tank than last 100m. That was a great race for Bronze too. Grijalva so close!
Idk man, I think we just watched Athing Mu's last race
Yeah I thought the same even before Boldons comments....
Also big shout out to the the idiots in denial who thought that there was absolutely nothing up with Athing Mu (emotionally) these championships. Looked like she wanted to be anywhere but on a running track in the heats, semis and then even worse in the final. I still can't understand why there was such reluctance to acknowledge that?
Even down to the fact the commentary team - who I'm not sure were following the messageboard here during the world champs - basically saying they had collectively seen the exact same thing at these championships. Love to see where all the Karens are now...
She won that medal off pure physical ability - it's actually super impressive when you think about it - to be so disinterested in racing and still walk away with a medal from the world championships - I'm impressed by that.
He says it's frustrating to be in a position where you have to run a better race than the others (tactically) in order to win, instead of just running on strength alone. Nevertheless, he's satisfied with winning and running a perfect race tactically.
Almost certain Athing and Brandon broke up. Looked like she was going through it emotionally this entire season. Barely seen her smile and this may be why. hope she doesn’t beat herself up too much about bronze
Honestly it becomes harder and harder for me to root for Jakob. He barely out kicks Katir and then gestures at the camera like that was easy, exactly like he did after the 1500m semi final.
I’m all about showboating and I don’t mind it usually, but it’s kind of weird to do that after just getting out kicked in the 1500m and barely outkicking katir here.
He won gold in the 5000. The 1500 is irrelevant to his post race celebration.
Ok but that wasn’t easy at all. Last year he made it look really easy. This year he had to dig deep so why would he do that « i don’t know » gesture after the race, that seemed to be saying « that was so easy ».
I think Mu wanted to lose. The win streak was a lot to have to step up to the line with each time she raced. If she comes back next season, hopefully the pressure will be released and she can just race. Would not be surprised if she hangs the spikes up though - seemed distant and not herself all year
I said Moraa was favourite. How she can surge so often is a mystery to me, she's freakishly good. Feel a bit sorry for Keely, she's becoming another Girma
