I've always thought the women are closer to FloJo's records than to the 400 and 800 records.
Those 400 and 800 records are so out there, I really don't see them being broken anytime soon.

I'm enjoying Neita's gradual eclipsing of Asher-Smith. Nothing against Dina personally, but the British media's continual pushing of her as The Chosen One, and as a perpetual medal contender in the face of all facts, is hugely irritating.
...and now Dina gets the first interview from the BBC, and 'Dina's difficult week' gets top billing over 'Neita's umpteenth PB of the year'.

Americans are afraid of javelins. Banned at the high school level in many states, I think.
On that same note, why are the men from India so good at the javelin? They have 3 that made the final and 2 that have a very strong potential to medal. It used to be that Finland and the Baltic countries dominated the javelin but now not so much. Pakistan also has a very good javelin thrower.
Aside from S. Jackson, all 200 times slightly slower than expected. Headwind shows 0.2 but wonder if it’s more.
Regardless, don’t think Noah was getting the WR even with a 2.0 tailwind today. Just didn’t get the turn he needed. 100-150 was great but 150-200 was just ok and didn’t get the same jump off the turn he got on his 19.31. Still work to do
My first thought when she exited that quickly was that she was going for treatment. I'm hoping she didn't strain something.
Having to ascend a flight of stairs to receive treatment is really stupid and poorly thought out. If someone is injured, the last thing you do is make them go up a flight of stairs. I think she was just trying to escape any chance of media or press.
