If any of you have actually met Ben Crawford and his pack of immature tools, you'd know they are 25 year olds who are trying to be cool with high school kids, which is beyond disturbing. I've heard Ben say inappropriate things to high school kids numerous times and the whole vibe is one that is going to get them in trouble with the law sooner rather than later.
Their shtick is quickly becoming something brands don't want to associate with. I can say that internally On is becoming very aware of how unprofessional New Gen is and HOKA is in a very similar stage of pulling their contract from New Gen. Both of those companies pull from New Gen and Ben and his team are all but dead in the sport.
I’d love to see Ben Crawford canceled and done after this. No allegations being made here but I get the groomer creep vibe very heavily. Dude says the cringiest and rudest crap in all his videos. He is absolutely that nerdy lame kid who found a niche avenue to try to be the main character, yet he’s still awkward even when trying to be hip and cool with the kids. I know he just wants to have fun and get attention but grow tf up man and have some morals.
sadly I don’t think anything will change for new gen as these adult dudes seem too immature for their age. I hope they’re reading this thread and possibly gaining some perspective on how toxic they are. I feel like no one is seeing this problem outside t hi s thread though so this story won’t make it big
You're right, that would not be on-brand for them, but they're not in the business of making experimental art that teens and the young adult crowd enjoys.
Also, if you're getting a sexual vibe from those pictures, maybe YOU'RE the problem. You should probably take a break from pornhub for a while.
I'm fine with being 'the problem' if okaying this type of brand promotion using teens at a camp is 'not the problem', lol. The themes of the photos are degrading and dominating teen girls. Plenty of men are turned on by that. You can deny that, but I was a teen girl. I know it, I've lived it. You can almost guarantee somebody j*cked off to the photos already. The dudes at NewGen are likely candidates. You can try to gaslight that this isn't sexual or inappropriate in any way but sorry, not buying it.
I mean yeah, sure, I 100% agree there is probably some deviant coomers out there that would get off to these pictures, but deviant coomers can get off to just about anything. If that's the line that you're drawing, then, girls shouldn't even be posting normal pictures of themselves because odds are there is someone out there that could use it to get off. Does that mean these pictures are overtly sexual or that most guys would jerk off to them? I would say no.
You can’t type these two thoughts publicly and be taken seriously
Why not, Karen?
Oh no! Dang…dropping a “Karen” on me again!! Creative!
A “Karen” huh….what do you have against white women?…oh wait, Welcome to team New Gen!!
maybe you should apply for one of their “creative expert” positions at next year’s camp…more than likely they’re hiring. Or maybe you were already there this year?
No, there’s a huge difference between a business encouraging and suggesting that young girls pose like this, and them doing it theirselves on their own accord
it’s fine when girls post whatever on their own personal social media feed, but is creepy when a brand is the one posting it to promote their brand. At that moment it goes from just being self expression to using girls/women as sexualized objects to make this brand look cooler and more edgy
even on one of Emma’s slides, she points out how disrespectful it is for new gen to feature a women’s body with their head cut off.
And they done other stuff in the past, like within just a few months of NIL going into effect, they could have done some cool stuff and instead they had college girls post in an over sized new gen singlet and nothing else looking drugged and dazed in front of the camera to promote their merch.
I don’t enjoy the angle of “we’re doing what’s in pop culture.” Most of that pop culture stuff they reference has been long gone because of the sexist, racist, and homophobic undertones, and they’re trying to bring it back calling it “art”
-the pictures are 25% of the problem. The response/leadership by new gen and their affiliates is 75%. -Emma Abrahamson is a proud LGBTQ+ ally, I am interested to see how she responds. She owes her peers an answer.
Emma Abrahamson has removed pics of her at camp from her IG. Not sure what we're supposed to take from that - assume she can't come right out and condemn the thing if she's still at the camp (but it will be interesting to see what she does after).
Pretty sure Emma was the oldest person at the camp. She was serving as a counselor and not in charge, but ooof trying to cover you were there as the most senior member. I assume she was probably in a position of overseeing of the girls (ngl her relationship with Rheinhart Harrison after last years camp has been strange. I mean he’s not a minor but he’s 18/19 and I think she’s about to turn 28?)
But anyways Idk again none of these young to mid twenties people who have never had a real job/responsibilities should be in charge of a camp
Moral of the story, hangout with high schoolers, get high school drama.
1. The photos are a little degrading imo, i'm sure the girls involved will grow up and cringe at them one day.
2. There is no defense for homophobic comments. It's obviously the photographer kid, and the lack of apology from `NextGen` should lead everyone to distance themselves from them moving forward.
3. Emma Gee's argument is right, but she's still annoying (yes you can be right and annoying), she arguably enjoys this. Making a slide show for everyone to be up to date on the drama and having a photo of just herself alone at the end is pretty wild in my opinion for such a serious topic.
4. Lot's of comments about calling people pedophiles on here, I'm not going to repeat the names because most people following this thread already know. I'd stay away from them.
But a message to all young runners out there, be aware that it's not normal for someone 25 years old to be having lengthy conversations with high schoolers. Even if it's under the guise of running related topics.

I heard that rumor about Emma and Rheinhart a few times… Always felt gross and like grooming…
Emma Abrahamson should really be held accountable too…
DONT MAKE ART SATIRIZING BULLYING FROM THE 80s THAT HURTS MY FEELINGS!!
Proceeds to bully Ben Crawford and call him homophobic and creepy
Calling someone out for homophobic acts is not bullying.
I will cite an example to be clear, as discussed in his video, giving someone the "gay son" or "thot daughter" question is insensitive and homophobic (it's inferred these are both undesirable options).
Okay okay okay simmer down simmer down. I personally don’t check let’s run all that often and don’t have an account. I also have work, a life, and running that I have to attend to besides this. Ben Crawford isnt behind anything I’ve said or done. Period.
what was camp?
it originally was 10(5 boys, 5 girls) of some of the fastest kids in country, who were invited out to join. Then there were 10(5 boys, 5 girls) creatives that had to apply. 2 of the rising star girls(the fast runners) had to drop out because one got sick and the other is racing in Argentina. That’s leaving 8 girls total. thats why Littlefield joined the rising stars for the photos, so it could look even. 4 creatives, 4 rising stars.
It was set so we could actually get to know the people that we’d hopefully be working with as we got older. Having actual runners as your model is really good practice. We had a media car at every workout. We had time set apart to work on creative stuff and the runners got to learn about NIL and other things of that nature. Personally I learned a lot and got a lot out of having both the media and rising stars together.
no one wants to say anything because honestly it’s at a point where no matter what is said, everyone is getting dragged. I don’t defend or stand with new gen. No one is telling me what to say or do. I also don’t stand with Emma and this storyline people are trying to make out of our camp, because it was genuinely a really nice experience for everyone involved. Everything should’ve been handled a lot better on all fronts.

Do you realize how soft you sound right now?
It is insane how much things have changed in our society, in such a short period of time
