That's ridiculous. These trans kids are taking opportunities away from HS girls. Having gone through male puberty gives such an advantage,ESPECIALLY in running. If i were you I'd be pissed about my daughter racing against boys in her own race. We need to protect womens and young girls sports. CIF needs to address this
Vermont is already doing a great thing in addressing this by no longer assigning a gender title- since the left has very much taught us that "Gender is a Social Construct"... They have begun teaching sex education in 5th grade without using gender terms such as the archaic "Male" and "Female" and have begun using facts such as "Sperm producers" and Egg producers"
I think this solves the riddle and CIF should have a "Sperm producer" sections and an "Egg producer" section. Google it if you don't believe me and to all of you crazy ass conservatives you can make this a bill and stop hating on people wearing a dress. Because they are sperm producers, but want to wear drag. So let them! and for the left- guess what- you won! gender is not longer a confusing identity. win win
A lot of moral outage there about stating facts. "Her", in this case, is a he, which is why the issue remains controversial. You might not agree with the media description that a "boy" denied the runner her "dream", but it is essentially correct in that a male denied a female runner the success she might otherwise have enjoyed. I suppose you're ok with that.
🤣🤣You are the king of moral outrage on these threads. I guess it takes one to know one.
You don't see the distinction between outrage and contempt.

I read that too, I think this is a win for both sides and everyone. It’s inclusive, factual, and takes gender out of the equation finally. Vermont may have cracked the code.
I have watched videos of the two trans kids...and obviously feel bad for them knowing their life can't be easy.
My daughter has asked me about this in the past and I have assured her that it wouldn't affect her. Now she's going to have to line up in a prelim on California's biggest stage against one of them...and hopefully she'll make the final (and then face both of them).
But these kids are getting faster and this problem is not going away.
Stop it. Go cheer on your daughter, and move on from the hate of the letsrun message boards. Obviously, this is not the place to debate what's fair.
Maybe next year one of our male “super sophs” from California decides he wants to be a female - not that there’s anything wrong with it. Imagine the girls race’s winning time being faster than the boys’ race? Maybe then CIF will realize that the rule must change. It could happen!
Having “multiple opportunities” is simply not true for every girl. There are many girls who rarely race out of section/league meets and only race at the elite level in the post season. They don’t have faster girls in the regular season to pull them along or challenge them. Taking away the chance to race again and at the highest level changes everything. They are just starting to get at their peak racing form and it just ends. Season over…who knows what they could have done and what future opportunities were taken away.
What needs to happen is that EVERY girl (actual female, not someone who thinks that they are) needs to either not show up to the line OR when the gun is fired, stand still and then walk off of the track. Or at the very least, maybe pause for 10 seconds, let the boy run by himself and the girls can race each other. Nothing will change if just a random parent or athlete here or there complains. The message has to be CLEAR that this is unacceptable.

I said the same thing regarding Lia Thomas at the NCAA Championships, and it would have been far easier to organize at the college level. Have all the swimmers stand on the blocks as Lia dives in and swims away, and agree to start racing when the clock shows ten seconds.
It's hard for me to see this happening in high school. I think the desire to run personal best times is too compelling and everyone hopes to PR in the State Meet if the weather cooperates.

They don't care so much.
Even the ones that think it's unfair don't have a big enough problem with it to side with frothing-at-the mouth transphobes. Some of these trans athletes are on their team and they go school with them, none of them want to become the poster girl for right-wingers to rally around to attack their teammates.

You’re suggesting they make a huge sacrifice that would eliminate the chance for a scholarship or even an invitation to walk on for anyone that refuses to compete. The swimmers that competed against Thomas acted like adults and FINA took still took action against her.
If you had a scholarship level daughter in the race, would you be cool with her forfeiting the scholarship and you having to pay for her education instead? It’s a lot easier if it’s someone else’s daughter.
one of the 2 athletes led for more than 800m during the race at SS. A few girls got PBs as a result (the pace was going down to a crawl before she took over)
a lot of people have seen the video, so the girls at the SS master race got a lot of exposure
many people will tune into the CIF race. I know that I never saw any girl CIF 1600m in my life, but I will tune in this time. So all the girls in the race will get way more exposure than they ever got.
However, it is very likely that a girl will not make the final because one (or both) of the trans girl will take a spot. Then the real outrage will start. Get ready
At this point, people are simply following the CIF rules
