what about the 60s hippie movement. Was that woke? We got safety science fields as a result of questionable labor practices back then. That seems kind of woke. What about the civil war? Was the north being woke?
There used to be actual injustices that were worth fighting for.

'French' Moroccans riot across France after their team's defeat in the World Cup. A group of them saw a car with a French flag (this is Paris, after all), and immediately attacked it. The driver panicked and sped off, killing one of the group - a 14 year old boy. No doubt there will be even bigger riots tonight. Yet the Woke thinks any discussion of this, or the problems that unlimited Third World (and Islamic) immigration into the West pose, is 'racist', 'intolerant' etc. Even discussion as to how to intergate new immigrants is racist.
And the most insane aspect is that it contradicts other core articles of woke faith - such as gay and trans rights, and feminism. Import a culture that persecutes the LBGT and treats women like chattel, and it's great and any discussion of it is 'right wing extremism', 'hate speech', and must be closed down. At the same time, force LBGT rights down everyody's throats, including or above all children's, and pretend the two things are mutually compatible instead of explosively contradictory.
I think it was called social justice back then or 'political correctness'. It got changed to "cultural marxism", and then finally to "woke".
The Right have to keep rebranding to keep their followers engaged with the latest monster-under-the-bed.

Problem being the painfully stupid people in the woke movement think social justice = equity of outcome. Because they are marxists.
