Yes. 300K miles easily. I think a lot of people expect EV batteries to be like cell phone batteries, which are designed to make you replace the phone every three years.
EV batteries are built to last.
I'm not so sure about that. If the warranty is 8 years or 100,000 miles, I think most manufacturers will build batteries to last maybe 20-50% more than that. Sure, they COULD make them to last much longer, but will they? Auto manufacturers have been known to cut corners to save a few pennies when that particular part failure could lead to very expensive repairs. I think they'll think that in 10 years that dead battery will be someone else's problem.
Tesla is different because their entire company's reputation was dependent on reliable batteries in the early days so they had to make their batteries bullet-proof.
You may be right, but I hope not. Other automakers want to compete with Tesla some day, so hopefully, they will make long-lasting batteries as well.
Actually no. I bought a Nissan Vehicle in 2007 and a Toyota in 2013 maybe. The Nissan I put 155,000 miles on it and paid exactly $300 for a wiring harness. That is all I spend for 155,000 miles. That is the total for repairs. The Toyota I have put about 75,000 miles on it. I have spent $300 on repairs (to remove the engine immobolizer). So for 230,000 miles I put on my cars I spent $600 TOTAL on repairs in roughly 16 years. Can you beat that?
Do you expect anyone to believe that? You didn't change tires or oil. You didn't change the timing belt. The fuel pump and alternator were fine the whole time. You never changed the battery. You didn't change the cabin air filter or the a/c resistor. You didn't change the windshield wipers. ... Come on.
Oil changes are routine maintenance issues. I paid for those every 6,000 miles. Never changed the timing belt. I had a CVT so it never seemed to need changing. The tires I got 90,000 rated tires but I am not considering tire cost into the equation. Never had an issue with the fuel pump or alternator. Of course I changed the battery. But what is funny is that Wal Mart had a policy that if your battery went out within 2 or 3 years they would give you a free one for free. So for like 12 years I always got a free battery. I changed the cabin air filter once. The wipers - yes once - but you are talking $15 and Auto zone does it for free. I do need to change the air filter.

You didn't have the transmission serviced either? And oil changes count. Any service a gas car needs that an EV does not counts.
If you want to be a little more credible, tell us the make/model/year of those cars so we can see the recommended maintenance schedule.

Fat Hurts, I had some hot rods when I was younger. My girlfriend's brother was a mechanic and so was his best friend. I had a '79 Trans Am and they played with that. But when I got older I never really looked under the hood. I had a 2007 Altima and put 155,000 miles on it with $300 for the wiring harness. That was it for 155,000 miles. I am sure Tesla charges you $2,000 to just come to your house.

Tesla does not charge extra to come to your home or business for mobile service. The price is the same as it would be if you brought your car to the service center.
You didn't take care of your Altima. You should have replaced the engine air filter and cabin air filter a LOT more often. You should have serviced the HEV system a few times, changed engine coolant a couple of times, changed the spark plugs, and probably should have serviced the transmission.

You are dreaming, 10 years or so no new ICE cars and shortly there after all banned? Soonest is 13 years on the new cars if CA gets it's act together and gets it's powergrid up to par to handle the increased demand. Which is highly unlikely as it's been a issue for years and that state has made little progress. Much more likely this gets pushed back to 25 years or more and that is just for CA. More than half the country will not outlaw ICE cars. So unless the Feds do, it won't be happening anytime soon.

The electric grid is not a remotely difficult problem. Most EVs charge at night when there is plenty of spare generating capacity.
It won't matter what government does. EVs will soon cost far less to manufacture than gas cars. It looks like Tesla has already accomplished it. So nobody is going to pay an extra $10,000 for an inferior vehicle.
And with the tax credits just passed in the Inflation Reduction Act, gas cars don't have a snowball's chance of surviving except among hobbyists.

It’s funny. I inherited a car my junior year in hs that I kept until I graduated college and got my first real job. It had about 150k miles on it when I got it and I put about 100k more in those 6+ years. I think I had the oil changed 3-4 times. That was it. Still ran well when traded it in. Makes me think those maintenance schedules are overblown.
Now of course that when I had the money, I never did that with any other car. I was afraid to take the chance.

Here we see the complete inability of the US political system to make sensible decisions.
Advantage always to whomever panders to the delusional fanatic, and little to no accountability for the result.

Oh yeah, we are so far off from any real progress into non fossil fuel sourced energy. That's why we're worried. The numbers aren't looking great. Hope someone magically invents unlimited energy or that our current science is just flat out wrong. I think it's a huge mistake to assume everything is just going to be alright because it's always been alright.

Whoa whoa whoa.
Paying an extra $10,000 (or more) for an inferior vehicle is what buying a Tesla is all about.
There are so many better EVs out there now. More are coming in the next couple of years.

The ban is perfectly sensible. Governments have to plan ahead years into the future because the ban affects a lot of other decisions being made by state and local governments throughout.

There are no better cars than Tesla.
Ever driven M-Benz or Porsche? I'm not mentioning small batch cars. Tesla might be a "good" car in a very specific circumstances, but compared to GOOD cars it's a bad joke. Google what car people, enthusiasts, and mechanics say about Tesla. Obviously, you're doing some "car political propaganda" while not knowing or ignoring well established knowledge about cars.

Tesla is far ahead of Benz and Porsche.
Neither has built an EV that compares with Tesla. They are far behind.
And if it runs on gasoline, it is inferior by definition.
