I think Rupp has a confidence problem. Every race he sits in the middle of the pack and must be constantly thinking "how much longer can I hang on?" You never seem him take control of the race ("yea I'm the best here come at me) so when it starts to hurt, mentally he thinks he is done. I dunno, I just made up a bunch of crap but I worry the usual outcome is going to play out here

You didn’t call anything. Rupp has been injured during the buildup, only reason hes even running is because its in Eugene. Nothing to do with confidence at all, Rupp was pretty much the only american with balls in distance races for a solid 6-7 years on the global stage.
