Seidel using the shade? not sure why she's running to the side
odds Molly get blasted by the entire pack and doesn't medal at all?

5k to go. Go Molly!
Kara sees Kosgei's teeth! mouth breathing for first time.
Yeah I'm nervous her running off to the side is going to get her suddenly detached.
Okay 5k left, you aren't allowed to show anything except the lead pack from here on out.

She's needlessly attempting to lead or be up towards the front and she should just be tucked in the back drafting and not having to extend mental energy.
eh maybe leading is giving her the adrenaline she needs and she's playing the mental game with the others, trying to make herself look stronger than she feels.
when you're ahead, people can't hear you breath.
I would 100% be leading if I was her. Idk why but it feels so much better to lead in marathons vs on the track.
Seidel has fastest stride cadence....
Dereje, Eth, seems to be clawing back some space - Mazuronak, Belarus, now 8th, finishing strongly....and moving up...
2:27 pace now?

would not call her a favourite. 10% or more chance of medalling
Will we see any USA men in the front at 37k?

is this the unlikeliest thing an American has ever done? i was shocked when Meb got silver but I feel like he was a bit more of a name than Seidel, even back then.
*in distance running
I think Molly is pretty well known for being able to cope with adverse conditions and marathon is pretty unpredictable, especially in this weather, so not that unlikely if you ask me.

This is certainly possible. The others all look really comfortable. If so, I hope she at least maintains her composure for 4th.
NOOOOOOO
Nooooooooooo
Kipchirchir doing her best Obiri form imitation
Remember. Deena stayed in the back in 2004 and picked people off that wilted in the heat. As of right now (23.5 miles) this is the 2nd best Olympic race ever.
Damn. C'mon and fight back Molly!
She's gotta stay solid and pick one of these women off when they die from the move. Probably Salpeter.

At 37k Rupp will either be in the front pack, in the non-Kipchoge front pack, or DNFed miles and miles ago
