This is the most likely scenario rather than some drama fest that people are hoping for. Although I could see a bunch of runners that jumped straight into pro running after college as being an immature and annoying bunch. Colleen clearly has her stuff together from top to bottom. She said that she even hired a PR firm to help with marketing not too long ago. So really to focus on her long term future outside the tentacles of Nike and BTC and any other distractions is a good move.

I also could see her moving up in distance or hitting the roads because the 1500-5000 is pretty crowded right now for US women. However, she stated her difficulties with high mileage, so that would essentially put the kibosh on a marathon career.

Why should Colleen become a distance runner ? She has a 1500m/3000m profile IMO, even the 5k is a bit too long for her

All her teammates just wanna lay around and play video games lol. Also, definitely seems like her and Shelbo aren't getting along at all. She talks about being mad at Shelby for starting french bread friday off her fast braid friday and buying a ton of bread just to throw it all away.

You are probably right. But it would be to increase the likelihood of qualifying for World Champs and the Olympics as she gets older. The 10k for the US women isn't very deep at the moment. Molly Huddle has to retire sooner rather than later, Emily Sisson seems more into the half/full marathon, Marielle Hall is good but not a world beater. Flagstaff seems like the place to live for distance training rather than getting in quality speed work for the mid distance stuff.

Given her latest IG post, it doesn't sound like she is staying with Nike. She said she'll be racing without a sponsor tomorrow so if she were staying with Nike I don't think she would have said that. Maybe she's still shopping around for sponsors?

If you read her "Farewell Letter" to the BTC, she mentions a conversation with Jerry where she told him she didn't think she'd be resigning with Nike, therefore forcing her to leave the group. It was a really enjoyable read. She details out her experience(s) in the group, and even highlights her favorite moments on/off the track. I might be speculating, but I do think something happened between her and Shelby, as they graduated the same year of college and Colleen famously "recruited" her into the BTC with a Facebook message. They no longer follow one another on social media, and Shelby is a mere blip in her farewell letter. Understandable-- not everyone is going to get alone, especially in a group of Alphas.

I'm not going to "speculate" or say I have some insider news, but as a fan, I would love to see her in New Balance colors running under Team Boss. Emma Coburn has stated she wants to train with the best in order to become the best, and I could see her and Colleen working well together while pushing each other to even faster times in the US steeplechase (and in the 1500 as well).

Sometimes women don't get along with women. Sometimes men don't get along with men. Sometimes men don't get along with women. Sometimes women don't get along with men. JEALOUSY isn't always the cause.

I think she'd do well in that group - I can't imagine she'd have a hard time getting a sponsor. I also think she could do better this year than ever before. I think she has the talent to beat Frerichs, at some point.

Nothing against Frerichs, but I've always thought Colleen has so much potential with her 1500 speed. Many people forget-- she was DQ'd in 2017 when Coburn and Frerichs went 1-2. Would've been cool to see what she could've done in that race, but maybe her best race is on the horizon. I think she can run 4:00 in the 1500 in the right race.

navigating any thread on a woman is always a minefield on this site because very small insecure men like to label women any which way. They rank her looks (what number do you think women rank you as, fellas?), they resort to the most basic and thoughtless tropes about women. It's JEALOUSY. because girls are JEALOUS. Women are OVERLY COMPETITIVE, except when they're racing. Then they are way more docile and accommodating than the men! and the race is less interesting right, fellas?

Men like to see women as one dimensional because it makes it easier to feel superior to them and later dismiss them. That's why they always find their way back to these tropes. For example: Mary Cain wasn't abused, she's too weak to handle TOUGH COACHING. Colleen isn't an intelligent businesswoman who created a marketable personality through her natural charisma and charm, she's a hot has been model, who's like actually not that hot (probably saying that because you know you don't have a chance), and probably cheats on her boyfriend, and who made other girls jealous, because they are petty and superficial.

I don't know Colleen's actual personality or what happened but I appreciate this post and that it might just be that it wasn't a good fit and personalities didn't mesh well at the end of the day.

Everything I said in my previous post is true. She is soooooo jealous of Shelby and Karissa. She argues with Jerry when he makes different and harder workouts for them and has her run with Emily, Gwen, Marielle, etc. When I say she seethes, that's an understatement. She's queen of blonde, white, look at me look at me entitlement and no one likes her. Some may tolerate her and just write it off as Colleen being Colleen, but others are celebrating her departure. She's just not a nice person.

Exactly. People that make these kinds of assertions involving groups of women tend to be basement dwellers with little experience with women. It's a cheap and easy way to feel better about yourself. Any human being or group of human beings, regardless of gender, are capable of negative social interactions.

No one has mentioned how Nike has seemed to start propping up Vanessa Fraser as the bombshell of the group. Plus I think she is going to make the Olympic team this year.
