That was the point. You will wait thinking it will bounce back. Just like others. Investors collectively cannot avoid a severe bear market. Perhaps you can but collectively investors cannot. Good luck to you and hope it turns out well.
There is a note of truth to what you say. During the Feb. downturn, i made several small trades and on average, lost more than i would have had i just done nothing (very modestly so, though). All of which in insignificant becuase i bought back in and the market rebounded. And in fact, bought a little extra on the way up so it actually worked to my benefit, but only because of the strong rebound. But for a while, i was down.
More appropriately, i recollect in the big downturn of 2009, i stayed home from work one morning and sold about 30% of my holdings. The market dropped another 20% or 30% from there, and i bought back in on the way up, at several percent lower than i sold it, so it worked again to my benefit.
The in-out-in-out can definitely snare you. Nothing is a sure thing.

This is only relevant to someone who bought on the first date and sold on the second. That would be a miniscule fraction of investors.

I said it will not be down March 2019 from where it was in March 2015 when he started this Market crash (60% drop) talk.
I was thinking clearly when I said it about 2016, 2017, 2018 and we'll see how clear I'm thinking come March 2019.
