Notable factoid.
Ukraine has regained something like 246 square kilometers of net territory in 2026, mostly in the month of February. This is the first significant Ukrainian advance since the 2023 counteroffensive.
These are the result of successful localized counterattacks rather than a wide scaled strategic breakthrough, but it does speak to the limits of Russian capabilities to enforce occupation.
