More generally, crowd size is just not something to base a lot on. I remember when Romney/Ryan were convinced they were going to pull the upset because of the size and enthusiasm of the crowds they were pulling, especially in the campaign's final weeks.
If people think Harris/Walz are going to pull off the upset, just based on crowds at rallies...I'd urge those folks to look for more data.

This whole thing is going to jump off soon. Pick your friends and allies carefully, because the American attitude is pretty much "every man for himself" now.

I drove by a Methodist Church polling spot. There was a red Trump canopy and a Blue Harris canopy as well. All looked peaceful but you could tell that simmering hatred was brewing among the Trump camp. If Trump fires off another Mike Pence didn’t have the courage type tweet these guys are going to shoot first and ask questions later.
Watch out for the shifty eye Trumpers in camo fatigues and beer bellies. They are the incels with a hair Trigger. The worst of the worst. Pure human scum with grievances at women.

In all these discussions today, I'm trying to keep in mind that Harris consistently, and accurately and unironically I think, has characterized the Dem ticket as the underdogs. Trump started the campaign with real advantages and I saw that his current "favorable" rating is higher than it ever was during his presidency.
Everyone expected this to be a tight race and not a slam dunk for anyone, but if Harris/Walz pull this off it *will* rank as an upset.
I have no idea how it's going to play out. I'll just watch with interest.
