I believe Amy Rudolph is moving from Iowa State to Tennessee to coach women’s distance. She listed her house in Ames over the weekend. Team has been informed she is leaving and her job is listed as open on the Iowa State jobs site.
Sorry, but as someone who knows Ryun, much of this is patently false. Funny that you can slam someone on a message board like this with no absolute accountability. Is he a little weird? Yes. Awkward? Yes. But ignoring athletes and fat shaming? Highly unlikely from the guy I know

Cale Wallace to take over women for the time being
Okay I’ll chime in because I know Ryun. This is a little off base. He’s certainly a weird and socially awkward man that struggles to relate and connect to people. In my experience a lot of distance nerds are that way. He’s not fat shaming or ignoring athletes or creating a toxic culture at any of his schools. It’s a little unfair to pile on baseless accusations.
Great information.
The last thing a person should do is relay information they got from other people that had negative interactions with them as fact. You do knot know how someone's brain works in certain situations. People have a way of distorting reality based on their own personal issues. Making statements about a person based on information you got from someone else is just foolish.
*thinking caps on* Now why would she hire a hurdles coach...if she's a hurdles coach? And currently coaches Rai... to an olympic gold...that he previously did not achieve without her guidance...
Unless you're trolling lol, then *thinking caps off*
No, not a troll.
You’re absolutely right. When I put your thinking cap on I can see from your perspective.
P4 Directors don’t have enough time in their day to coach these highly technical, time consuming events all on their own. They hire a mini me. D. Smith coaches sprints/hurdles and relays. That’s five events, seven if you lump in the 4x400 and open 400. He recruited Rai from NY and got him through the Ucla admissions process. Rai left Ucla because Smith was not retained when Anderson took over. Smith recruits, he’s a passionate Bruin, they are friends, and Hayes can trust him to back her up.
So unlike you, I don’t view the goal to be to avoid duplication. Why not reinforce the marquis event areas (like NAU)? Do you realize how many hurdlers are going to flock to Ucla now?
We have to get rid of these trash coaches. It’s sad how many of them get recycled and reused. It’s time to move on from some coaches.
K State, Arizona State, Nebraska, and now Oklahoma State. Where will he take his ingenuity next? Heard he would get pissed at his athletes tryna talk to him about training, let days or weeks go by ignoring athletes unless approached by them, and even fat shame all women and men. When you’ve been to 4 places within 5 years, it’s not the team, it’s a you problem. Anyone who has Ryun Godfrey as their next distance coach, I fear for your well being. He doesn’t care about you at all. The fact he will inherit an NCAA title next year with OK state is sad
Why would be stay at Nebraska for a long time? He left ASU due to lack of backing at the time and all Nebraska has done since his arrival is cut roster spots and scholarships, leaving them as one of the worst XC teams at the P4 level. Good luck to whoever Nebraska decides to hire.
Great hire for FSU. We have been associated with Iowa State cross country for the last few years and Coach Frazier has been amazing. I believe he was at FSU before ISU. He is a great leader, recruiter, and knowledgable. He will do a great job at FSU- sorry he is leaving ISU!
