Name a single D1 that would want to hire him after the last train wreck?

Any top DI school . The guy took a dump of a program to being an actual legit program. He did it with minimal money and he proved that athletes want to run for him. They took off after his contract didn’t get renewed. The man can coach and athlete want to run for him.

UCLA admin hate anything but football or basketball.

UCLA hates success in sports other than football and basketball so they fire ( don’t renew) good coaches intentionally? Interesting take.

Funny how whiners can get others to hold them as martyrs. He knows what he did. He denies it. He'll do it again.

UCLA bus driver is bad and therefore the bus ride is bad. Some of you can hate Brosnan and show your outright jealousy but he was being successful and did not break rules, yet was let go. Newsflash, UCLA has a bad reputation and it has killed recruiting and relationships. The good news is a lot of promising athletes have UCLA degrees now even though the had to let go of their track dreams in the process.

I don't think people realize how hard it is to get fired in your first year as an assistant in a very small sport (XC/track).

You have to really piss off an AD to get fired.

It has nothing to do with pushing for success. You only get fired your first year if you put the school in jeopardy.

We all know Brosnan can coach. But we also know he is a boundary pusher. Whether in recruiting or in supplements or something else, it seems like Brosnan pushed boundaries that made him a potential liability.

So UCSB is now looking for an Assoc. Head coach. I just did a search and could not find anything to rent even at 2100 a month. How in the world can someone survive off of 40-48k a year ?

With the amount of local talent in Florida, there is no reason why this program should be under performing like they have been for years. On the distance side, they never even bothered to advertise the position and instead just hired a guy with local ties, who last "led" a program to a last place conference finish.
