As for the war in general....Russia GDP per capita was 11,600 in 2008. 16 years later its gone up to 13800....The country is a mess. Such a terrible waste of resources. Both Ukraine and Russia are losing in the long-term. Both have terrible demographics and economies where most of the wealth is bled off by the top 1%.

Putin had a nice run in the 2000s with high oil prices but has been stagnating ever since. This was is just another nail in the coffin. I spent a few years in Russia before the war. It's really a hopeless place, I can understand why Ukraine is so desperate not be a Russian satellite. If the Euros step up support I see this dragging on another few years.

Larry Johnson, former CIA Intel Analyst, has the total number of Russia deaths since the started at ~80,000. He says the Ukrainian losses are far higher & that they don't have the manpower to fight on anymore. If your "70,000" number is for the total number of Russia deaths, then your source(s) & Johnson are in fairly close agreement.

It is irrelevant to compare everything in the USD. What house can you buy (if any) at, say, USD 300K some 15-20 miles from NYC (upstate NY or Connecticut)? A cabin? And in a nice forest area near Moscow you could have a 4K sq. ft solid 3-level house with a half an acre lot.

Ukrainian forces advanced within Kursk in the Russian Federation in the Sudzha direction on 11/10. They still occupy large amounts of russian territory. The “wild hornets” drone unit is operating in the area as well as the Russian Volunteer Corps (anti-putin Russian volunteers) and the Freedom of Russia Legion (similar). North Korean forces attempting to assist russia in re-capturing kursk have so far been slaughtered and caused major issues within Russian command (they cannot tell the difference between russians and ukrainians and will fire at their russian allies on accident, regularly)

According to the Institute of the Study of War, russia is losing around 1,600 men per day on the front lines, including 30,000 attempting to re capture Kursk so far alone. There was a Ukrainian HIMARS strike on a russian convoy in Kursk when Ukraine first broke through the border defenses that killed 300+ alone

Russian forces do not “surround” Ukrainians anywhere on the front lines. Updated ISW interactive maps show this. Ukraine still has around 800,000 men, thousands of tanks and armored vehicles, approx 70 F-16’s, dozens of other western fighters and helicopters, and thousands of heavy artillery pieces. They are bravely holding the line against the invaders and inflicting massive casualties.

There will be peace. But it'll only happen when Ukraine surrenders and focuses on peace, not regaining all territory.

It's worth noting that Ukrainian troops have been operating in Russian territory for over 3 months now. That is just humiliation for Russia, no matter what happens in the future. In the last year, Russian territory has been invaded by Wagner-Nazis and Ukrainians.

Ukraine is a huge country and it takes time to move an army forward, even when the opposing army is out of fight. That's what's happening on the eastern front.

In Kursk Oblast, the Ukrainians have gained nothing and are wasting all their armor and personnel at the expense of the eastern fronts. They are about to lose 2 more major cities and it won't be over yet. They will keep having to do that as long as you neocon trash cheerlead their misery.

It's been clear NATO is receiving a humiliating defeat in this war. Just another disaster propogated by the war mongering deep state in the US.

Yup. Just 48 more hours. Ukrainian forces are surrounded, their lines are collapsing, their occupation of russia will end soon. I even saw a group of roughly 200 russian conscripts and 12 vehicles bravely intercept HIMARS shells with their bodies on saturday. It was a double tap strike, so they sent more troops to intercept the second round of fire as well. For the motherland!

Russia has been launching missiles and glide bombs from deep inside Russian territory. The US engagement rules have prevented Ukraine from launching attacks against air fields and missile launchers within Russia. Ukraine does not have a very large stockpile of ATACMs and will only really be able to use long range missiles to try and take out a few military assets that are connected to Russia's long range missile and glide bomb attacks.

If Ukraine has moderate success in taking out some of these assets, it would help alleviate some of the pressure on the front lines as Russia's glide bombs are effective at putting pressure on concentrations of UA forces. But the most important reason to try and limit these strikes is that Russia uses these missiles and glide bombs to take out power generation and transmission facilities and often to just bomb civilian targets to try and wear down the Ukrainian people's resolve. Russia launched a large missile barrage last week that killed two dozen civilians and another yesterday that damage energy infrastructure.

So, all this does is give Ukraine a chance to limit Russia's ability to launch bombing and missile attacks from its own soil with impunity. And Trump will reverse this order in seven weeks and force Zelensky to take a deal.
