The Donbass is a real meat grinder. We probably haven't seen anything like it since Okinawa or Iwo Jima.
Are you serious about that?
As a hobby of mine, I'm a WW2 historian & the Battle of Okinawa horrific. Fought in the spring of 1945, the 82 day was the bloodiest & fiercest of the Pacific war with some 50,000 allied & 100,000 Japanese deaths.
So, if the Donbass is anything like that, it would be devastating & have long-term ramifications for both the Ukrainians & Russians.
Russia, by accounts from both sides, lost 100,000 men in the Vuldehar sector alone and took 2 years to take the city.

it did not say it lost 100k there or in the entire SMO. Put down the crack pipe.
Russia has complete air superiority, more and better armor, artillery, bombs, drones, missiles, soldiers, better everything, and have been taking their time methodically dismantling the Ukrainian fortified defense.

Russia does not have air superiority. Its planes cannot cross into Ukrainian airspace without being shot down. They have to launch their missiles dozens of miles from the border. The Western-supplied Patriot anti-aircraft systems have proven to be objectively far superior to even the latest-generation Russian systems.
Russia does not have better armor. Western-supplied armored vehicles have been highly effective at protecting their crews, while Russia has lost multiple thousands of vehicles and their crews when their ammo has detonated.
Russia does not have better artillery. The effect of Russia's superiority in ammunition has been weakened because its artillery is much less accurate, and it has had to rely on imported, low-quality ammunition from North Korea.
Russia's approach has not been methodical. It has turned towards increased use of "meat waves" and Russian infantry casualties have been extremely high. Russia has also been making indiscriminate use of aerial bombs, including against Russia cities in Kursk oblast.
I'm not saying this because I know how the war will turn out. I'm saying this because all of these facts are well known to anyone who has been following the war from any side, and the fact that you are unaware of them suggests that you don't know what you are talking about.

super easy to spot a russian online agent. They call the invasion an SMO. (special military operation). Russia has been found to employ tens of thousands of human online propagandists and this is one of them.

those "facts" you mentions obviously are not facts as Ukraine loses and loses badly
this is highly technological war and russia winning not because of meat waves but because its weapons much much better and loses much much smaller

Okinawa had approximately 12,500 allied deaths. The 50 thousand number includes wounded in action. But yes, 50,000 allied casualties is very high. I think the most KIA for the United States was roughly 20,000 in the Battle of the Bulge.
During the Battle of the Somme the British had 20,000 killed in about an 8 hour period!
That's about right for the Allied deaths. However, the Japanese did suffer 100,000 + deaths that also included conscripted Okinawan defenders. The Japanese simply fought to the last man.
Something I don't understand about this war. Instead of Ukraine having their soldiers continually slaughtered like cattle going toe & toe with Russians, why don't they procure some advanced missiles from the U.S. & start unleashing missile strikes on Russian military & infrastructure targets deep inside Russia?
I'm talking the good stuff here: Take the Tomahawk missile - with it's advance guidance system & maneuverability, it's difficult to take down. It can carry a good size explosive warhead plus a tactical nuclear warhead. There's also the "Dark Eagle" - the U.S. most advanced hypersonic missile. It also packs quite a punch.👊
If I was Ukraine, I'd start unleashing hell on Russia with missile strikes at their military bases, weapons manufacturing plants, power plants, military academies & training facilities, etc. I might even throw a few at the Kremlin & try to take out Putin. Lol.
Now before some of you guys rebut with "That's crazy...Putin will respond with nuclear weapons" BS. He's not. Ukraine could launch a tactical nuke at him & he still wouldn't respond with any nukes. He knows if he launches nukes, the U.S. & NATO will launch nukes back & we'll have a mutually assured destruction (MAD) scenario where everyone loses & Putin will have to retreat into his underground bunker & live out the rest of his natural life. He doesn't want that. He's terrified at that. He's a narcissist & loves life too much. He thinks he's a God & loves ruling the Russian people. Putin may be stupid but he's not crazy.
Ukraine better considered doing this, IMO. They need to end this war now & stop the senseless slaughtering of their soldiers & civilians. Unleash hell on Russia with advanced ballistic & hypersonic missiles. Go for the jugular & knockout punch. Putin will be on his hands & knee begging for peace talks. 😆

There are growing signs that Russia is having trouble sustaining its very high burn rate of military personnel. Soldiers from aircraft carriers were diverted to the front lines. All sorts of foreign nationals are being spotting fighting for Russia as mercenaries in Ukraine.
Russia's economy is running out of time. The Russian central bank raised interest rates to 19% as inflation has been out of control. Russia's oil exports have dropped significantly as China is not able to buy up as much discounted Russian oil due to China's own internal economic stagnation. So, all that talk about the BRICs economic power and the death of the dollar are definitely pre-mature at best.
This is not to say that Russia is on the verge of collapse economically and militarily. Russia is able to produce huge amounts of artillery and glide bombs. That has allowed Russia the ability to make very slow but real progress on the front in Donbass. Ukraine has been able to extract a heavy toll for every Russian advance and is doing so while striking Russian oil and gas facilities and weapons depots.
Ukraine may be using a rope a dope strategy to wear down Russia and then exploit weaknesses. Or Ukraine may just be doing an amazing job with the very limited resources it has. Russia does seem to be hoping for a Trump win so that Trump will force Ukraine into an armistice by cutting off support. I do not think that Russia has a real plan to continue the war if a Harris administration is able to continue to deliver military aid to Ukraine.
North Korean soldiers have reportedly departed for Russia following reports that the Asian nation will deploy troops in Ukraine to aid Moscow’s forces.
Lacking a viable strategy and resources, Zelenskyy's victory plan is unlikely to bring peace to Ukraine. The Ukrainian president presented his plan to President Biden in September.
Serhii Hnezdilov, a Ukrainian soldier, said he wanted to draw attention to the need to discharge worn-out soldiers and replace them with fresh conscripts.
I think the question here is will the U.S. allow Zelensky to engage in any peace talks with Putin?
Furthermore, Putin has made it clear that any peace negotiations to end the war would be conditional on Ukraine abandoning it's intentions in joining NATO, and Kyiv must also recognize Russia's sovereignty over the Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson & Zaporizhzhia regions.
Is the U.S. going to agree to this? If so, would the Zelensky administration remain in Office if a peace agreement under Russia's conditions are met?
Also, Ukraine is running out of troops. The U.S. is putting pressure on Zelensky to lower the draft age to an unprecedented 18 yrs of age:
A Ukrainian official said Tuesday that American politicians are pressuring Ukraine to lower the minimum age of conscription from 25 to 18 to make more young men available for combat. "If this information has surfaced, I can c...
And the U.S. is not going to allow Ukraine to strike targets with ballistic missiles deep inside Russian territories for fear of a major escalation.
IMO, this puts Ukraine in a major disadvantage as far as winning the war. Since Ukraine doesn't have the manpower to go toe to toe with Russia anymore, the only way to get the advantage back would be to aggressively hit Russian military bases, weapons manufacturing facilities, infrastructure, etc, targets deep inside Russian territory.
I guess Washington expects Zelensky to keep slugging it out with Russia to the very last man left in Ukraine.
You state one of the three truths the mods hate most:
1. Ukraine is losing
2. Trump will win
3. The Covid vax is useless, at best.
Vlad out with a statement saying he looks forward to working with Trump to end the war. Watch it end before its third anniversary in February. Russia will get territorial concessions from Ukraine, the official definition of "winning" a war.
And RFK Jr will be raiding FDA and CDC files to prove the Covid vax is useless (at best) and to show there was a top-down Fauci-led effort to discredit everyone with reasonable concerns about a rushed mRNA jab and lockdowns.
Russia will not accept a frozen front offer. They'll want Kharkov and Odessa, at a minimum, beyond the full territory of the 4 new republics.
Not getting Odessa though. This would mean cutting Ukraine off from the coastline completely. Nobody is going to allow this. I can see them keeping Crimea and Donbas, but that's about it.

A couple of questions on a scenario like that:
1) Does Ukraine agree to abandon efforts to join NATO? (assuming Putin is still against the idea of Ukraine joining NATO).
2) Does the Zelensky administration remain in Office if a cease fire agreement is reached?
3) And if Putin wants reparations would Ukraine being willing to agree to any of that?
Will be freaking hilarious to watch trump and his supporters quietly forget about ending this war on “day 1” of his presidency.
Trump has no leverage. He’s putin’s buddy, but what can he do to threaten ukraine? He can cut off their aid, but the EU has already anticipated this and is stepping up their aid. Rehimtall is building large weapons manufacturing facilities deep in Western ukraine as we speak. The front lines are quite stable currently, despite Russia launching huge assaults this fall (and taking massive casualties). North Koreans have already been getting smacked in Kursk, which Ukraine still holds. The only areas where russia has been making significant gains are in the Pokrovsk direction, but it has finally stabilized as well.
Point of all this being, Trump can’t end this. Russia doesn’t respond to threats and neither will Ukraine. Maybe he could send ukraine like 4,000 tanks if he wasn’t putin’s little dog, that might help russia look for peace
1. Kursk was not taken by the Ukrainian forces. They are in the Kursk region. This is like being in the eastern part of Long Island and claim to have occupied NYC.
2. The Germani company building a plant in Ukraine is called Rheinmetall. Not a big deal for the Russians to destroy it once it starts producing weapons.
3. Russia is advancing not near Pokrovsk only. This PR operation in the Kursk region costs too much to Ukraine. They sent too many troops there thus weakening the front in Donbass and Zaporozhye.
