Agreed. Some posters have been claiming that Russian victory has been imminent for over two years…
Some posters have been thinking Ukraine will win the war and the Russians are incompetent. And still cling to such nonsense as even the MSM is reporting the end is near for Ukraine.
Meanwhile Blinken plays a bad version of Rocking in the Free World in his best imitation of Nero fiddling while Rome burns
The Russians are in fact incompetent. They took on a country whose military was largely a loose confederation of local militias and got resoundingly whooped when they attempted to take Kyiv in the first days of the invasion. Then, after battle lines were drawn, Russia again got beaten badly when Ukraine launched a surprise offensive on Kharkiv and Kherson. The Russian retreat was so fast that they left most of their heavy weapons. It was only when the West dawdled in delivering arms for Ukraine's 2023 spring offensive (which ended up being a summer stalemate) that Russia was able to have enough time to fortify defensive lines. Every time Russia set its sights on taking a small Ukrainian city, the resulting battle was a complete slaughter of RU forces (Bakhmut/Avdiivka) and RU was only able to prevail by simply bombing every structure in these cities to the point that there was nothing left to defend.
Now, UA has been badly starved of ammunition, which has allowed RU to stage this offensive. And even though the Russians are effectively fighting a UA with one hand tied behind its back as it waits for Western munitions to arrive, UA is not rolling over and has been able to put up a strong defense. UA has even been able to keep pressure on Crimea with a huge ATACMS attack on an air base
UA is definitely at a disadvantage right now due to right wing Putin puppets in the US succeeding at blocking aid for almost six months. But UA is still managing a significant resistance to the Russian advance and shows no signs of losing this war any time soon.
The U.S. has supplied a "significant number" of ATACMS to Ukraine, putting all Russian military sites in occupied Crimea in the crosshairs of Kyiv's forces.

The liars will never take responsibility. As Ukraine continues to lose, the liars will blame US underfunding, or slow funding, or the fact we didn't send a million US troops. Yada, yada, yada. The liars will NEVER accept the reality that their idiocy started this war and their idiocy is losing the war they started.
Hard truths are downvoted on this thread, and extremely dark truths are deleted. But fwiw... Zelensky and his puppet masters aren't as distraught as you might think about losing 300,000 fighting age Ukrainian men. That is Zelensky's internal opposition being thrown into the Russian meat grinder.

When the US announced in 2007 that NATO was expanding to include the Ukraine, Putin told Bush that if the Ukraine joined NATO they would do so without Crimea and the Donbass (which were transferred to the Ukraine during the Soviet period for strictly administrative reasons). Say what you want about Vladimir Vladimirovich, but he will be proven 100% correct on this account. The course this war is taking is evident to all not blinded by the MSM propaganda machine.
In 1990, James Baker told Gorbachev that NATO would expand "not one inch." Yes, there was no formal treaty signed to that regard but numerous proclamations were made to that effect by US and other Western leaders. Had we kept our promise, we wouldn't be on the brink of WWIII today.

It could be a massive attack, but here the media stops keeping silence that the ATACMS were effectively intercepted by the Russian air defense complexes. Yes, explosions in the air, debris falling damaging some buildings, but the UA goals were not reached.

There were multiple reports that RU jets and air defense system were damaged or destroyed in the attack, including confirmation from a Russian news media source. Of course, Russia said that it intercepted all the missiles, but there is video showing fires burning hours later and local reports of secondary explosions indicate that the attack also hit a munitions storage facility on the base.
In bigger news, it looks like the US is going to relax its restrictions on Ukraine using NATO weapons across RU's border as RU is able to mass forces just across the border with impunity to launch cross border attacks. ISW is also reporting that the tempo of the Russian offensive operations has slowed significantly, which may indicate that UA is now able to bomb RU positions across the border and is now putting up a stronger defense. So, while UA is still desperately in need of arms from the west, any prediction of a quick collapse of UA defenses around Kharkiv is just wrong. I would expect the northern front to shape up much like RU's offensives around Bakhmut and Avdiivka with huge losses in trench warfare and RU making small advances at very high costs. RU is supposedly amassing large numbers of infantry through a shadow mobilization just for this purpose.
The Kremlin said all the US-made long-range missiles were shot down, but the claim was debunked by big fires burning for hours at Belbek airfield and official warnings of cluster munitions.
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken hinted on Wednesday that Ukrainian forces could bomb Russia with military materiel supplied by the US, something they had previously been forbidden from doing.

Just like it'll all be over for Ukraine by...what was it, November 2022? March 2023? Does anybody remember? This is so dumb that not even Lolly/CC would believe it.

Yep. And when I called him on the statement 10 months later, he lied and denied making it. Sad.
