I don't think it was any of that stuff. The US and Israeli militaries don't care about that. They saw Iran rise up and decided they couldn't handle Iran, so they backed down. Way the hell down. They did the X and Os and the calculus and decided they couldn't engage Iran.
With respect to the national and international mood, frankly I think Global Jihad Rage Day was very persuasive to a lot of people. I know I thought it was a demented joke, but I again underestimated how powerful that stuff is on many Americans.
Trump swayed a lot of people. He's good at that. He can mis-direct his supporters with a few words. But I'm still mystified why the American media changed the way they did, practically overnight. I'm not one of those guys who says everything is about money. They didn't do it for money. I don't know why they flipped, but they certainly did. The murder of that Palestinian kid in Chicago is playing marquee everywhere. We will be hearing about that for weeks whenever someone tries to raise Israeli deaths. They are George Floyding that sad event. I cannot figure out their motivations.
Anyway, this is done. Stick a fork in it. Hamas/Iran 1, Israel/US 0. Strange, inexplicable come from behind win.
