So after all this no one really knows who’s getting the UCLA distance gig/getting fired next summer when Avery’s contract isn’t renewed?
No job posted. But Devin is out. Avery has been flying people in despite the job not being posted. Sean Brozeman or who ever - dude from the high school team NP where Nico Yoong went- he is taking the job, a huge pay cut froM hos current gif to “get his foot in the door” at a P5 school. Sadly both his HS teams are currently Bette le than the train wreck of a team he is taking over. Should be announced formally 5 days after posting job.
$100k in San Fran is equivalent to about $50 in most places
Girl, only two MAYBE three D1 coaches in the Bay Area make over 100k (Cal, Stanford, SJSU Directors) the rest, if full time, are 60-90k… even less for the 10 month full time and part timers… so when a D2 job with low expectations opens up and pays that well- it’s worth noting.
I'd bet my life savings that SJSU and probably Cal are under 100k

There are plenty of bad coaches of bad programs that make over $100K so don’t be so sure.

Wasn't there some quote attributed to the HC about UCLA not being a distance school... something about climate not being conducive... and focusing on mid-distance?
So the HC hires the most prolific HS distance coach in recent history?

I’d like your life savings in a cashier’s check please, because you’re going to lose this bet.
No Garrett, it literally doesn't add anything. "New Coach Thinks Their Changes will Bring Success" ...news??
Petros is a tyrant micromanager. Nobody from UGA will be transferring to Illinois to rejoin his set up. He will always focus on jumps and multi because that is what he can recruit and develop. Easy to recruit foreigners to get you points at conference and nationals in those events. His teams will always be the same. More power to him. What kind of staff can he get this late in the game? What assistants want to put up with his tyrannical tendencies?

Well at least it looks like you read the article before commenting. I was thinking the same thing about assistants but he has a 5 year contract. And our AD is patient if he see things moving in a positive direction which is a low bar. So he has years to get the staff he wants in place. Reading this thread it looks like lots of coaches would love to move to a P5 program. Maybe with realignment even more interest in a B1G program.

Because a contract is never breakable a Illinois, just ask Lovie Smith.
