I want Ukraine to win but with Reps blocking the way to aid, Putin just needs to hang in there until November 2024 (if Trump wins). They have a quantitative advantage and NATO is afraid of sending troops to help Ukraine.

I saw this report and thought it was an old story as Russia has previously suffered massive loses of armored vehicles in assaults around Avdiivka. I thought "the Russians couldn't be dumb enough to launch another attack with a large (and vulnerable) column of armored vehicles only to get devasted by UA's drones. But lo and behold, the Russians are that dumb. This is what you get when you have an authoritarian government. The incentive at all levels is to make sure that you never do anything that might make your superiors think that you are trying to show them up and make them look bad. Thus, another armored column attack goes the same was as before.
And for the UA doomsayers, things are starting to look up for UA. France is stepping up in a big way to send arms and apply diplomatic pressure on China.
