The polls have been a Musk sham ON TOP OF already being overcorrected. Just look at every stunt they pulled during this campaign - all of it was to create fake hype and make Ds feel less motivated to vote.

The Trump campaign is fake as hell. Trump has his base of lunatics that will never ever leave him. But that is his ceiling. He has gained no voters and has alienated huge swaths of people since 2020. Big money has the ability through marketing to make small things appear big.
There was a story from Michigan about Elon Mush's canvassers being toted around in a Uhaul and being denied hotel money if they did not hit their canvassing goals. And none of them knew they were signing up to be working for Trump until after they signed their NDA's.

The Trump campaign has done nothing other than run 100% at his base. And even that has been a bit of a sh#t show with Trump's rambling speeches and JD Vance's bit coin bro woodenness. The campaign has completely blown the abortion issue with Trump and Vance going full on Handmaid's Tale with talk of protecting women and childless cat ladies. And virtually ever other issue is just Trump proclaiming that he will fix it and it wouldn't have happened if he was president. Any voter who is minimally informed about the policies will have no reason to vote for Trump as it is abundantly clear he is all hot air and has no real policy positions on anything.
The Harris campaign has made the election about rejecting Trump's division and promises a new bipartisanship. She has also run hard on abortion, an issue that has been successful at getting a decent number of conservatives to cross party lines in state ballot initiatives. And then the fact of the matter is that the economy is very good, even with the bite inflation has taken. People have jobs. Most people have seen their incomes rise. Inflation is back under control. Gas prices are low. GDP numbers are strong. There are long standing issues with the affordability of housing, health care, and college. But Trump has no clear policy position to address any of that.
That leaves the question of why are polls tightening in both the presidential race but also in some hotly contested senate races? It is either one of two things or maybe a combination of the two. It may very well be that the polling data is crap. In 2022, pollsters were going on and on about a red wave. The opposite occurred. Otherwise, it may very well be that this is the first election where people's opinions are dominated by social media disinformation and misinformation. That is really the only way people could look at the current economy and believe that it is a disaster as alleged by Trump. Even the very conservative Economist has come out in support of Harris primarily on the basis that the economy is too good and Trump cannot be trusted with it.

Then Johnson will say time is up on Dec 5th and claim that a simply majority instead of 270 electoral votes will be the winner.
The problem here is that each of these states have laws that state they must certify. And the governor of each state would be in all kinds of sh!t from voters if they did not get their electors in. Can you imagine?

thank the lord there are dem governors in PA WI MI who won't be pressured to pardon GOPers who try to stop certification in their states.
In other words, if there were a R governor in WI, that governor might tell Election Official Betty Joe Trumper of Red County, WI that she might be arrested for not certifying, but he would pardon her.
trickier if the crime is a federal crime. Then Betty Joe would have to really believe trump would win and then pardon her.
But the point is that trumpers are so crazed that they are not intimidated by the prospect of jailtime. They could easily be pressured into not certifying and being arrested. Cost of being a patriot, they would think.
So just saying that 'the law forces people to certify' might not mean a whole lot if the prospect of jail isn't a big deal to a trumper.
