Here in Texas I volunteered to drive people to get their IDs. I would pick them up, allow them to get their ID, and then drive them home. No one wanted to do that. I would have sat in my car for 2 hours so they could get their ID. None wanted to do that. How can you function in life without an ID?

Voter ID is very, very simple if you live outside of fox news. And the US courts have consistently supported it's defeat.

The US constitution guarantees all citizens the right to vote. It is a hallmark of our nation. And the US courts have repeatedly ruled that "poll taxes" are illegal. Why you ask?

Because poll taxes are nothing more than a way to make it difficult for poorer demographics to vote. When you charge people money the rich will vote without missing a beat, but the poor will stop voting immediately.

Voter ID's work exactly like a poll tax. The more hoops you make people jump through the more the electorate will look like middle class white people. Passports cost money to get. They are a form of a poll tax. And poor people work 2 and 3 jobs and can't go get voter IDS.

Now we have some dumb Trumpers claiming they will drive people to get IDs. Well that is a lie. They would not.

But here is the kicker. Our election are the most safe and secure in the world.. Here is another kicker. Illegal aliens DO NOT VOTE. Yes, this is nothing more than a right wing effort to

1. Suppress the vote of people that won't vote for Republicans

2. Prefabricate a reason to claim the election was rigged when you lose.

In the United States we have a voting problem compared to the rest of the world. It is not that people that are not supposed to vote are voting. The problem is that people that could vote DO NOT VOTE.

US voter participation is the lowest in the world.

And the GOP would like it to go lower to keep holding on to power.

Very simple.

They are the same in principle. They produce hardship that poor people will avoid.

And they are the same in substance

To get an ID it often costs money to do so. And it also costs money to get a copy of your birth certificate and the many other forms of proof of who you are. And it cost money to get internet access to be able to track down forms needed to get an ID. Poor people won't do it to vote. They are busy trying to find food for the day.

You are not a poor person and neither am I. So it is not wise to project your life situation to poor people and disparage that their wallet is not as full of ID's as yours.
