If any of my compatriots would like to see evidence of how X-Country should be run then please see the link below. However, be warned, it contains images of the club 'they love to hate' winning a 7th Surrey League Title. The hate mostly coming from rich Surrey landlords who get made MPs when they reach a certain weight. Do not be fooled, there is a whole lot of love for Kent AC and most of the league to not want to lose this class outfit who consistently raise the bar. The bar of course being accessible for all and not stocking any light beers at all and certainly no Keystone Light or Coors Light. The dimly lit beer halls of Ladywell are currently full of planning, plotting and mischieveous mischief for a 2021 win for the club of the people.

HA! Maybe the people of Kent but not the people of Surrey. Apart from the legend at the front of that photo, you're about as much 'of the people' as Boris Johnson. The heart and soul of the club has been ripped apart by your blatant crusade to conquer the greatest cross country league in the world, even your own athletes are embarassed by some of your acquisitions and conduct, disgraceful. Travel costs would cut into your transfer budget by quite a bit but is not time to apply for a place in the Manchester Cross Country League next?

Right, I'll tell you an anecdote about travelling home from a XC meet. In 2014 I was catching the Southeastern train from Sevenoaks station. It was very crowded; I found myself in a last-minute rush for the one remaining seat beside a tall, good-looking man with collar-length hair, it was the 2010s; buckaroo! I looked up and saw it was none other than Peter Lighting, it was the height of his XC career. He said, "You jammy b*stard" and quick as a flash, I replied, "Don't be blue, Peter!" That's the only thing they're leading - The pace of Surrey-based runners is too leisurely to be called quick. Uphill runs become power sappingly mundane whilst overtaking National Express coaches becomes a long, drawn-out affair. Not my words, those are the words of Top Gear Magazine.

Kent had quite a few "no shows" too. Surrey XC Championships, Surrey track and field championships, Surrey road relays. Ironic.
Kent AC, the club that tells it's own athletes not to compete in their cross country champs.
Are you still bitter that Kent had to carry Hercules Wimbledon to victory the other week like some kind of wounded soldier in the Surrey vs Met League 5 mile challenge?
No sireee, i haven't been paying much attention to the virtual races. I guess that's the great thing about virtual racing though, you don't have to travel across counties.
Let battle re-commence tomorrow afternoon for what promises to be an interesting season.
Thankfully tomorrow is at Richmond Park and not Crystal Palace...

Oh dear....this post hasn't aged well.....Kent's first actual scorer (not counting 2nd claimers ) was a 47 year old warrior ? Doesn't bode well for a continuation of the dynasty ? 3 more rounds to go though -could be an interesting season
3rd team in the first match, down to 4th team in the 2nd match. This was even with "we've got the big guns out today" although no evidence of them. Again it was the 2nd claimers up the front, and bizarrely their 2nd man home was wearing an X on his back as a non-scorer???
It looks like my Belgravians took the win today.
