Are you slow? The woman is NOT an elite athlete! She is a wife, mother, sister, and friend. If that doesn't inspire you, you must be made of stone.

This has to be a troll joking, but I'll play along! Because she IS claiming she's inspiring......
How does being a wife make you inspiring to anyone? She got hitched - who cares. No one forced her to have a kid 20 years ago, How is that inspiring too? You don't become disabled after having a baby.
I can't see why anyone would find a long run paid for by the public inspiring unless you were doing it with one leg or after beating cancer etc.
Anyhow, it's not happening. Pay for your OWN vacation Sandra.
Ask this husband, kids and sister to pay if you can't.
That's probably the reason why nobody funded this little trip of $90000.
Not being an elite athlete, just being a wife, mother, sister friend is not inspiring to most because we all do that too already.
But it would be good if this whole thing get officially cancelled and the funds returned.

It seemed to me they were getting very little interest from sponsors and so VERY near the date started asking the PUBLIC for 90 grand!
Ms Phan, that really isn't how it works dear.
They need to do a huge rethink and find a budget way to do this as the public are never going to fund this vacation, and nor should they!
Save your pennies Sandra, dump the useless marketing twit, and just do your own trip, that YOU pay for and forget any records, as you just aren't good enough yet
Sandra, change your marketing guru as any decent one will tell you it's got to be for the purpose of "Raising awareness..." about something, then you bullshit on about it ad nauseam until you've sucked in enough gullible punters. Plenty of threads about it on here, Reading's, Hughes, etc.
The thing is that Sandra Villines would have never broken the record. She is just not that experienced yet. Maybe in 5-10 years but not right now.
Trasie Phan compared her with Pete Kostelnick but she was totally wrong with that comparison. Basically Trasie has no clue about ultrarunning. She had the pleasure to do stuff for Pete and thought "she" could repeat that. But "she" didn't run, it was Pete who ran. A world class ultramarathoner.

Hate to beat a dead horse, but it amazes me how many mediocre runners want others to pay for their little endeavors -- all "record breaking" attempts at one thing or another. And none put in the hard work beforehand to prepare for it.
I'm not saying Sandra is a scammer like Young or Reading/Shingler, but why would she think others should contribute a whopping 90 grand for her to run across the country. It is not inspiring. Terry Fox was inspiring.

Yep, it shows that her "marketing" did not work. She seems to be clueless about ultrarunning AND marketing.
Finally they removed the go fund me campaign for Sandra.

Well, they could have kept the money so they deserve credit for giving it back. Of course I have to imagine the only people who gave were family and friends...so maybe that's why they're doing the right thing.
Was the $1300 raised in 10 months or in 2 weeks? She can't break 3 1/2 hours in a marathon but can win the Badwater 135 race in the heat? How is that possible. I'm sure all the male winners should be able to break 2:45 in a marathon. At most she only needs a 2-3 person crew for a Trans run attempt.

Why is it that good distance runners cannot beat good race walkers in a long distance walking race?
