Neil Featherby is an accomplished and experienced runner. As David Reading's coach he must have known David Reading's race results (particularly the claimed 3:12 at 2016 London Marathon) did not jibe. Why didn't Neil Featherby say something?

Looks like someone from Outdoor Magazine should have been following this story all along. I wonder if anybody has a contact with them? Looks like they should be covering the run attempt, too.I find it really, really odd that there is not one single video on their Facebook or YouTube page showing Dave Reading running for any amount of time in his epic training runs but tons of him just standing around on his runs doing nothing and looking like he hasn't even broken a sweat. And he has a professional photographer following him. WTF?

Great news Hoka one one will support LEJOG 2017 and outdoor fitness magazine will be covering my training and the challenge all the way to the end.

I think I can answer that, Neil and all the other sponsors were in on it, a case of "we know it's all a little (wink, wink) bit untrue, but hey, we're putting our sponsor money in to it so we want the best possible story for good promotion and publicity for our businesses, ...oh yeah and for the charity to of course." You don't spoil a good story with the truth.

Nicky sounds like a blonde airhead who doesn't know the first thing about running or why cheating is wrong, especially when trying to cheat to a recognized world record. I don't trust her "checks" one bit if she is that dumb.

And none of this is free. The disclosed money sums don't add up at all. If he is paid in merchandise and services, that is also financial gain that should be disclosed to tax authorities because it is a taxable gain.

And you can bet your money that Dave Reading and his posse had plans to write a book and sell it as well as charging for motivational speeches. It's the typical charity runner scam.

Can you also ask Nicky if she will sponsor my world record run across Australia this summer? I have superhuman endurance.
