No, but my mom has dealt with different names on passport and immigration at a young age. Took a month or two. Wasn't a big problem.

I don't understand your hesitation. Theoretically all this transgender stuff is to protect people like you from being made to feel uncomfortable (it isn't, but let's put that aside for now) , yet you still feel uncomfortable with all this. What's going on? Do you approve of Obama's Decree that anyone can identify as anything and use any facility and participate in any gender activity?
If you could easily pass for either male or female, and assuming that there were stalls in the bathroom with doors (which is almost universally true), why would you be uncomfortable?

You are misrepresenting what the North Carolina law does. Before and after North Carolina passed their law you could use the men's shower at your gym.
