I'll be the first to ask: What the heck, Harvard men? 5th?
And Princeton men graduate no one - oy.

Harvard men no guts with a quarter to go when Bentsen dropped him he just gave up, all the way to 19th!
Go green makes a scary point (especially for Big Green fans like us). Princeton is going to be incredibly deep next year.
Results?
So you're saying he lost 35 seconds in the last 400m?

Yes!
The Harvard men screwed up. First guy gave up around 3.5k (holding a "cramp") never to be seen again. Second guy blew a gasket with 600m to go and went from 2nd to 19th. What a joke. They need to toughen up. Both might as well started walking.
According to the coach, Leakos is recovering from bronchitis but the coach thought he was strong enough to run today as he appeared ok during practice earlier in the week. Korolev got the stitch and finished 22nd.
I'm surprised no one is asking what happened to Yale, as they finished in a distant 5th. They're going to lose their ranking this week, but apparently, their number 1 runner Millie Chapman did not run today.
Anywho:
Congrats to the Cornell women and Princeton men. Excellent races and a great time at West Windsor Fields!
Saw Waverly Neer (Columbia) at the meet. She's currently on crutches but she hopes to be back in time for indoor. No signs of Abbey D'Agostino (Dartmouth) at the meet.
Well, those were my projections at the beginning of the month. Official team placings today:
1. Cornell
2. Princeton
3. Brown
4. Harvard
5. Yale
6. Columbia
7. Dartmouth
8. Penn
I feel fortunate to have gotten half the placings right. I don't think I'll be in the predictions business anymore.
Can anyone tell an old guy where there are photos, or even video recaps?
Thank you.

Could be wrong, but I thought I heard Mark Young saying that yesterday Chapman tried to warm up and couldn't. Apparently it was something that sudden.
Other random stuff:
I don't think the Harvard men deserve disrespect. They went for it, and just ran out of gas. No shame there, IMHO. I realize others' opinions will differ...
Apparently it was common knowledge, but I learned only today that L. Kovach, whom I considered a dark horse for the individual win, is out with a stress fracture. My heart aches for that athlete--she's had a tough road.
Cornell men impressed me today. Apparently they were not 100% physically, but they raced tough and finished in the top half of the field, just shy of third place and well ahead of fifth. Their #1 today was Nick Wade, nominally an 800 man--could the 1500 be in his future? Or the 1000 (just for one last year, but then he's a senior anyway)?
With the (large) exception of K. Kellner, the Cornell women return their top five next year, plus their #7 today. The Big Red were running 1-3-6 with about 1000m to go; for them to finish 1-2-3 (with open water to the fourth-placer) was very impressive.
I notice we're all still talking about "podium" teams, but at the WWindsor setup there's really no such thing: the winning team is celebrated, and that's it!
Much credit to the Princeton men on their dominating win (beating the rest of the League combined), and to the Princeton women for a second place that few expected.

Thank you.
Check out hepstrack.com for photos and interviews (they should be available by tomorrow morning). Also, the ivy league office should have some kind of video recap available tomorrow as well.
Sorry to hear about chapman, I hope she recovers quickly!

Bendsten and Leakos were clear of the field with 1k to go. I have no idea how Leakos finished 19th but it didn't matter.
Even if Harvard goes 1-2 up front, they still would have been 5th as there bottom three scored 90 points.
Saretksy at Harvard
5th 1st year
6th
6th
6th
7th
5th this year
And they have to be #2 or #3 in talent (clearly Princeton is #1).
Damn, those are fast times compared to heps races in my day. I remember when it was a huge deal when guys ran 24:10--including a future Olympian. Now there's a dozen guys faster than that!
This may be old news but I've been out of touch for a while so somebody please enlighten me. Are these guys that much faster or has VC course gotten a little easier since 1980s and 1990s?
It was held at Princeton
In case you are interested, the course at Princeton runs between 40-50 seconds slower than VCP. (I am a nerd and calculated this by comparing the results to the 2010 heps at VCP) Obviously some runners will be better at one course or the other, but if you add about 45 seconds to a runner's time at princeton today you'll have an idea of what they would have run if HEPS were held in the proper location.

You mean faster right?
If you read the rest of his post, it is obvious that he meant faster.
Anybody know of any photos/video from the meet? (Beyond the Ivy League's semi-lame stuff?)
Also, if you watch the Ivy League's video, they got the number wrong: it was the 37th women's championship, not the 36th.
They also identified Artie Smith as Rich Bowman!
American men regularly now run sub 13 5k and sun 27 10k but marathons stuck at 2:07. What gives?
